The Fujinon XK20-120mm T3.5 Cabrio Lens is a wide to telephoto zoom lens for Super 35mm cameras in PL mount. The focus, zoom, and iris barrels are geared with standard 0.8 film pitch, which provides an interface for the removable ENG-style digital drive unit. The rear PL mount features electrical contacts for sharing Arri LDS and Cooke /i Technology lens data with the camera.
The detachable drive unit is an ENG-style handgrip with a zoom rocker switch, 16-bit encoding, and an interface for remote control via a wired or wireless controller from Fujinon or other compatible, third party manufacturers. When the drive unit is attached to the lens, a digital auto-aligning system quickly and accurately calibrates it to the zoom, focus, and iris gears. Power is provided by either an external connector or the PL mount's interface. A removable lens support is included with the lens.

Gorgeous in every respect
This is a gorgeous lens, both in the images it produces and the image it projects. When B&H unboxed my lens at the counter, three or four B&H staff gathered around to admire it; And they are people who have handled nice kit in their jobs. But more important are the pictures this lens helps you make — tack sharp and luxuriant color. No complaints at all. I also do not notice any appreciable breathing or chromatic aberration. There is some barrel and pincushion distortion, noticeable only when shooting rectangular objects straight on, which I have found easy to correct in post. Build quality and physical design are also important for image quality. The xk20-120 is a class act in this regard also. It is built to last, solid, to tight tolerances. I bought the lens without the servo and never missed having motors. In my style of shooting I almost always have the lens barrel within reach. The action of iris, focus and zoom are smooth, silent, and well controlled. Within the first days of use, I found that I was easily able with one hand to pull focus while zooming gradually wider on an approaching subject. There are other nice touches, like a very accessible backfocus adjustment and a rudimentary macro capability. One thing, though, the lense is heavy-ish, 7.8 kg (6.1 lbs) (with no servo). On top of that, the center of gravity seems a bit forward, which accentuates the perception of weight when shooting on your shoulder. Plan this into your rig. I use this lense on a Black Magic Ursa Mini Pro, whose sensor is significantly larger than the rated image circle of the Fujinon. Yet even shooting full frame, this lense did surprisingly well. Vignetting is there if you look for it, but for practical purposes this is no problem. When shooting full frame on the UMP there is also some subtle softening at the outer edges of the image, beyond the advertised image circle. Again, this is not a problem. On the contrary, the psychologic effect is to make the center region of the image pop more. Light transmission maxes out at T3.5 (with no ramping). Considering the Laws of Physics and the Fujinon's uncompromising build quality, not to mention price point, that's not bad. If you need more, there is a T2 Fujinon zoom with a great reputation that weighs 2.5x as much and costs 4x as much. I recommend this lens without hesitation. If you invested in a camera capable of excellent images, don't cheat on glass. Get this Fujinon. Just make sure you rig for it, and make sure you feed your rig enough light.
