Moto XT1625 overview

  • 1Description

Experience the next generation of dynamic handheld performance with the white 4th Gen. Moto G XT1625 from Motorola. This smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 2GB of dedicated RAM. It comes equipped with 16GB of storage and includes a microSD slot that supports microSDXC cards with up to 128GB of memory for additional storage capacity. The integrated micro-USB interface allows you to connect the device for mass-storage purposes and also serves as a charging port.

The Moto G houses a 5.5" LCD touchscreen display, which features a 1920 x 1080 resolution that fully supports all your HD content. For your photo and video needs, the Moto G features two powerful cameras: a rear-facing 13MP camera with auto-focus, color balancing dual-LED flash, auto HDR, 1080p video capture, and several other enhancements built-in; and a front-facing 5MP wide-angle camera.

The Moto G is also well-equipped for wireless communication. It features Bluetooth 4.1 + LE (Smart Ready) technology for pairing with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi for high-speed Internet connectivity. GPS with GLONASS is also on-board for using compatible location services and applications. The Moto G's 3000mAh battery is designed to provide "All Day" mixed usage on a full charge, and thanks to TurboPower technology, it can provide up to 6 hours of power from only 15 minutes of charging.

Note: The XT1625 is the North American Variant of the Moto G. It will run on any GSM network that uses cell frequencies supported by the device, including AT&T and T-Mobile. It will also work with certain CDMA carriers, such as Verizon and Sprint. Current Verizon SIM cards can be transferred to the new device, though the carrier may limit the purchase of new SIM cards for unlocked phones. Since this device is unlocked, functionality for certain carrier-specific features cannot be guaranteed. Please confirm with your carrier that it supports the Moto G before purchasing.

GSM + CDMA / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM and CDMA networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband Internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can't get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
North American Variant / US Compatible LTE
The XT1625 is a US variant of the Moto G. The XT1625's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America. It can also be used in other parts of the world; however, LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. The full list of compatible carrier frequencies can be found here, the frequencies this phone supports can be found in the product specs.
All-Day Battery and TurboPower Technology
The Moto G is designed to last a full day and then some. With a 3000mAh battery, you can go about your day and not worry about battery life. Go to school or work, visit with friends, and then head out for the evening - you'll still have enough juice to get home. Plus, the Moto G is equipped with TurboPower technology, which is designed to give you 6 hours of usage after just 15 minutes of charging.
Water Repellant
Advanced nano-coating technology creates a water repellent barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water, such as accidental spills, splashes, or light rain.
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google's web search. It's a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your homescreen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to more than one million apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 6.0 Marshmallow overhauls permissions, allowing you to have finer control over what your applications have access to. It also marks the debut of Now on Tap, a context-sensitive update to Google Now that checks your current screen for keywords and then searches for them automatically. Other performance and security enhancements are included as well.

Moto XT1625 reviews

Moto G XT1625 4th Gen. 16GB Smartphone (Unlocked, White) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent value phone, with some WiFi isues Overall a good phone with all the necessary functionality at a reasonable price. However, the WiFi on the phone leaves something to be desired. Trying to use it for downloads at home with my router that runs 802.11b & g, the download and upload speeds are exactly 1/6 of the speeds of my 1st gen. MotoG. But connected to my cable company's outdoor hotspots or someone else's newer router (802.11n?) it runs a good bit faster, and also faster than my 1st gen phone. Motorola tech support was no help, just passing me off from one agent to another for over a week and a half, even with the above information provided to them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice phone. I had a Straight Talk/Tracfone Galaxy S4 mini before this which I liked quite a bit. Since my eyes are getting crusty with the years and my battery life w the S4 was fading, I went for something bigger and newer in the budget smartphone zone. The Moto G 4th gen is great. Fast app transitions, nice camera, nice display, easy set up w AT&T. Not a gamer. I mostly do email text pics and those ancient things we used to refer to as phone calls where you actually talk to another human. It's great for all of that. Love the battery life and light weight for it's size too, btw.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great when works. Motorola warranty is worthless I loved the phone. Then at some point it started exhibiting a behavior that Motorola Support calls Ghost touch. Basically it is a random triggering of different screen areas without my touching the phone. The forums at Motorola are full of complaints and the company admits there is a problem and will replace a phone sent for repairs. However, people report that the new phones have the same problem. I do not know what to do since they do not offer another model as replacement and refuse a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Phone After looking for several months, I chose the Moto G as a replacement for my old 2G technology flip phone. The phone has a little bit of a learning curve (as do most technology devices). After two weeks with the phone I am still learning all the features. The audio for the normal phone and the speaker phone is quite good. The different shape of the earpiece as compared to the flip phone takes does take a little getting use but is quite similar to newer feature phones and other smart phones. The screen is sharp and easily read indoors and outdoors in shade. Battery life has been much better than expected. Installing apps has been easy as has been connecting to various WiFi hotspots. Setting up the phone to connect to my gmail account was trivial. I'm undecided if I prefer the threaded text messages to the chronological text messages of the old phone. Each scheme has benefits. The only downside I have seen is the lack of printed information. Some operations are not as intuitive as the designers may have thought. This is not a problem with this phone but with many technology products. Electronic documentation is fine provided the technology has not failed and is preventing you from getting to the electronic documentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone for a phenomenal price. I use this phone every day, all day, have my lists on it, text messaging, weather checking, taking pictures for documenting. Had a Moto G first generation that I used constantly, but it had an unfortunate accident, The only complaint I have comparing the two is the LED light on the front of Moto G4 does not light up with incoming messages, that one thing was so handy and not as obtrusive as the display that Moto G4 has instead. Love the larger size screen, so easy to read and text from. Love the thin case, and light feel of the phone. Great phone for a phenomenal price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Excellent phone, superb camera however heat up after 4-5 min I like this phone , it's a value for money however noticed one major flaw that it heats up (super hot, can't touch to my ear) after 4-5 min of talk so returning it. Thanks to BHP excellent customer service, 5 start for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great deal for the money It is meeting all of my needs in terms of it capabilities. Plenty of on-board storage and with micro SD slot. Processor speed seems very good. Build quality is also nice. It's the heavy full metal jacket but feel like high quality. Screen size is huge. Built-in mic and speaker seem quite good. Not really using it as a camera but what I have tried turns out impressive. At least initially it is also holding a charge very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Have mixed feelings about Moto G XT1625 4th Gen I did not know anything about the phone prior to purchasing. I bought it based on recommendation of the sales representatives. Pluses- Images look good on screen, takes much better pictures than my Asus Zenphone and Samsung. Does not come with a lot of bloatware except for google, it is light and I like the size and that I can travel with it without having to purchase another phone. Concerns 1.The first phone had problems told me to update and after that could not make any calls whatsoever until I had to turn off couple of times. 2. Phone could not connect to Wifi in my small apt and some other places found this strange compared to my ASUS which did not have any of these problems. The MOTO G4 phone screen blacked out on me at least 6 times on its own. I never had a phone do this within first few days. I came back to return the phone and get another brand. The sales representative told me it was the best buy in that price range to meet my basic needs. So I got a second MOTO G4. So far second phone is much better than first phone. Although I know it is an Android phone like my other phones I still have some concerns. Everything I do on the phone is dependent on Google. It gives me no option to save numbers to SIM, does not come with a note section, repeatedly asks me to activate google microphone, becomes hot and considerably drains batteries when tested shooting a video. Battery lasts about 5 hours I use phone for basic things occasional making calls, texts and occasional web search. I am unsure I will keep the phone.
