Is it possible to lower the center column to the ...

Is it possible to lower the center column to the ground in order to improve stability with a forth point of contact and also to make the minimum height less (just like on a regular combo cine stand)?
Asked by: Allain
While it may be possible for the center of the light stand base to connect to the floor, the Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand would not be the most stable in this configuration. It would be best to have the legs spread out to the maximum width, and you may use the boom feature of the stand to boom the light fixture to a lower height than when the center column is used upright.

The Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand supports at Min. Extension: 66 lb and Max. Extension: 17.6 lb, the weight of Aputure LS 600x Pro Bi-Color LED Monolight is 11.37 lb / 5.16 kg (Fixture with Yoke) and 10.78 lb / 4.89 kg (Power Supply/Controller) so the whole kit is 42.04 lb / 19.07 kg. It will support the Aputure LS 600x Pro Bi-Color LED Monolight even at full extension considering you will have 6.82lbs. for light modifier. Also, don't forget the sand bags as counter weights. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1161029-REG/impact_sbf_b_15_saddle_sandbag_15lb.html

How tall of a ceiling do you need to extend this boom arm out to set it in place? With wheels attached.
Asked by: Robert
The boom part on the Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand can be set into position with the stand at the lowest setting and then extended. Working with at least a 7 foot ceiling would be good; the minimum working height is 65.4"/166cm.
