Implement scalable perimeter protection in high-security locations with Axis Communications Perimeter Defender Video Analytics. Compatible with select Axis cameras and video encoders, Perimeter Defender is a scalable video analytics application for intrusion detection. The application supports multiple detection scenarios, including simultaneous support for zone crossing and loitering. Additionally, burnt-in bounding box metadata overlays in live and recorded video for visual confirmation of detected objects is supported in compatible Axis cameras.
With a separate license, PTZ autotracking is supported. Setup is simplified thanks to the system design tool and automatic calibration.
Suitable Applications
- Suitable for large-scale perimeter protection, intrusion detection, sterile zones of power plants, chemical plants, and critical infrastructure facilities within industrial, transportation, and government sectors
- Not suitable for areas with large amounts of moving objects (public squares or transit areas), extreme weather conditions, or areas with insufficient lighting

Support for Axis Perimeter Defender PTZ autotracking that enables a visual or thermal camera to take control of a PTZ camera for autotracking (requires separate license)
Event Integration
Integrates with camera event management system to enable event streaming to VMS and camera actions such as I/O control, notification, edge storage, and more
