LTM Pepper 300W Reviews

Big Light for a Little Room

We are a radio network based in Washington DC, and our hosts frequently do video highlights of their shows for the Web. One host recently got a regular video gig on a streaming service, and we shoot his radio show as he records it. The price of LED panels to light the talent was prohibitive, but there was enough room and electrical capacity in the studio for a pair of Pepper 300s. Besides that wonderful smell of hot metal from a new lamp, we like these for their minimal weight (confident scissor mount on a grid ceiling), their focusing ability, and how they make our guy look good on camera. We can move them quickly and pin whatever gels or fuzz we need to on the barndoors to get the shot we want. I wish I looked closer at the specs and bought a pair of properly sized drop-in scrims (I only had five-inchers here), but I'll fix that on a future order. If you need to light a small, low space for TV hits or web video, get three of these and some diffuser, and you are set.

Good, sturdy light for photos or display

We used them to light some high-end design concepts at a trade show. Durable constuction, good light with relatively low power. for trade shows, it worked well because the electrical labor was pretty low (no hanging charges- they mount on C-Stands). only thing that isn't so hot are the clips that hold the barndoors or gels- these break off pretty easily (but also easily fixed with a drill and some wire).

question

Is it possible to purchase just the fresnel lens for this light??
Asked by: Brian D.
B&H does not have replacement lenses for the LTM Fresnel lights.
