Pepper 420W Fresnel Light is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good fresnel light This is one of the work horses of my lighting setup. It produces a bright, clean, and even light beam which can be focused in and out. It has a cast steel construction and is made to last a career. Also, the barndoors for the unit are shaped so that you can crop the light to exactly where you need it with no spill over in the corners. Two minor disadvantages though, it get very hot and the wormscrew gets a little worn down, but they can be lubricated with a high heat lubricant (just make sure it is not corrosive to aluminum).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small light - lots of punch I use my Peppers for video production. They make a great kicker or backlight. For an interview setup I also use them with a gobo for making a background pattern. I have several 420 Peppers and they are small and compact but pack a punch. They are a good value for a compact light. Only problem is they get real hot, gloves are a must once they warm up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable Starter I've been pretty happy with the two LTM 420s I purchased. There were a few little things that bothered me with the build: no strap to tie up the cable, One of the fresnel lenses was a little loose, etc ...but most of these were easy to fix onmy own. Overall, you're not going to get the same level of build quality as Arri or Mole, but then these are also significantly cheaper. I think they're a great starter fresnel. At some point I'll probably upgrade my kit and I think these will fit in nicely between some Arri 650s & 300s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact Hot Light For the money, the LTM Pepper lights are the best bang for the buck. I know that they are mostly used for video and television, but I use them for still photography. In the '50's, there was a genre of Hollywood movie star portrait that used a very hard light. The result was a dramatic portrait. The focusing spotlight (fresnel) is used in stage lighting as well as movies. The build quality on Pepper lights is very good. I travel a lot and their compact size is such that i can fit them in my suitcase.
