Countryman B2D Overview

The black B2D Directional Lavalier Microphone from Countryman is configured for use with the Sony transmitter. It can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater show, or lecturers in a school setting or house of worship. Featuring a hypercardioid pattern, the B2D rejects surrounding noise with a six to ten decibel reduction greater than an omnidirectional pattern. This results in decreased feedback, ambient noise, and phase cancellation when using multiple microphones. The B2D includes a detachable 3.5mm locking plug.

Can easily hide behind a shirt button, making it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other applications
Natural vocal reproduction, remarkable intelligibility, and a tight polar pattern make the B2D suitable for broadcast
Included isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise, while allowing 360° rotation of the mic for easy positioning
Can be used for redundant miking with a second mic and optional double tie clip

Countryman B2D Reviews

Excellent Sound, Shoddy Clip

The B2D works great for capturing location sound in a noisy location. In that application, attaching the microphone to the talent's skin works well. But when using the clip to attach to clothing, you have to do a lot of twisting and compressing. I had to call Countryman Associates to tell me how to do it. Additionally, the swiveling part of the clip comes apart. It can be put back together with determined effort, but this is not the kind of thing you want to do on location.
