Atlas Sound M1000 Overview

The black M1000 8" Dual-Cone Sound Masking Speaker by Atlas Sound is designed to deliver an adjustable spectrum of sound masking in open office plans. A masking generator (not included) feeds pink noise into an Atlas Sound commercial 70V amplifier (not included), which in turn feeds the M1000 masking speaker to produce a random low-level sound throughout the coverage area. The result is increased speech privacy and a reduced perceived level of noise.

To ensure ample low-frequency response, the M1000 masking speaker's 734 cubic inch enclosure houses an 8" dual-cone loudspeaker and a 70.7V transformer. An external selector switch provides a selection of wattage taps ranging from 0.25W to 4W, plus an "off" position , for precise level adjustments. The masking speaker is designed to be installed above suspended ceiling systems or open ceiling spaces and is approved for use in plenum ceilings. Its suspension system features two factory-installed collapsible galvanized hangers configured to allow upward, downward, or horizontal orientation. Typically the M1000 is installed with contractor-provided strong ceiling grid suspension wire.

Depending on the size of the area you wish to cover and the level of sound masking you require, various combinations of generators and amplifiers can be used with the M1000. For example, an Atlas ASP-MG24 4 channel masking generator can be connected to an Atlas PA1001G amplifier to power up to about eighty M1000 sound masking speakers tapped at 1W. To meet most local code requirements, the M1000 includes a termination cover containing both knockouts and a strain relief. This system will allow the use of rigid or flexible conduit, if required, and easily accommodates "through" connections on the removable plate.

question

How many would be needed for a 52sqm space? I would like to DIY and need to know everything I need to purchase
Asked by: Anonymous
The determination of a proper configuration depends on a number of factors including average ambient noise level, square footage of the space, number of occupants, ceiling height and compositon, flooring type, etc. It is highly recommended to hire a sound professional/integrator to assess and survey your environment before proceeding with a purchase.
