  • 1Description

Pairing two versatile primes for Micro Four Thirds shooters, this Portrait Lens Kit from Olympus includes the M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 and M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 lenses, as well as dedicated lens hoods for both of the lenses and barrel-style lens cases to protect the lenses during storage and travel. The included lenses are ideally suited for portraiture applications due to their short telephoto focal lengths and bright maximum apertures for controlling depth of field.

  • M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 Lens (Black)

Positioned as the perfect portrait prime, the black M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 from Olympus is a sleek 90mm equivalent lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The short-telephoto focal length pairs with a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture to benefit working in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field for producing selective focus effects. The optical construction of the lens incorporates two extra-high refractive index elements, which help to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to realize notable sharpness and accurate rendering. Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system is employed to deliver quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance to suit both video and photo applications.

Portrait-length prime is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a 90mm equivalent focal length.
Fast f/1.8 maximum aperture helps to achieve shallow depth of field and selective focusing effects, and also benefits working in difficult lighting conditions.
Two extra-high refractive index elements are used to control distortion and spherical aberration for improved sharpness and clarity.
Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system benefits both photo and video applications due to its smooth, quiet, and fast performance.

  • M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 Lens (Black)

Characterized by its telephoto design and bright maximum aperture, the black M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 from Olympus is a 150mm equivalent prime for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. Coupled with the reach and visual compression of the focal length, the bright f/1.8 maximum aperture enables extensive control over depth of field to make this lens ideal for portraiture applications. Its optical design incorporates three extra-low dispersion elements and two high refractive index elements to reduce a variety of aberrations and color fringing for sharp, clear, and color accurate imagery. A ZERO coating has also been applied to individual elements to suppress surface reflections and flare for greater contrast and color fidelity in a variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, a Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system is employed to deliver quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance to suit both video and photo applications.

Mid-length telephoto prime is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a 150mm equivalent focal length.

Olympus Lens Sets f/1.8 reviews

Portrait Lens Kit with 45mm f/1.8 and 75mm f/1.8 Lenses is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value! I was looking for fast prime lens but had difficulty choosing the right one. I have 14-150mm as my kit lens, and usually take pictures on longer end, so I looked at 45mm and longer, but hesitated to choose just one. This kit solved my problem by offering two great lenses at exceptional combined price and barrel lens cases as a bonus. Both lenses have maximum aperture f/1.8 which results in incredibly fast autofocus, higher shutter speeds and lower ISO comparing to 14-150mm withf/5.4 - f/5.5 at the same respective focal lengths. Shooting indoors without flash is no longer an issue, although 75mm might be too long for comfortable indoor use. Image quality in general is superb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just buy it. Now. Given the price of this kit, you basically pay for the 75mm and the hood and get the 45 and its hood for free. That alone makes it a no-brainer. Here are the common gripes - the 75 is just too long to be used as a portrait lens. No. Just no. Granted, you probably can't take good kitty-cat pictures indoors on the couch with this lens (I tried). But, for studio or outdoor headshots (or even larger), it works great! Yes, it can stop out to 1.8. No, you shouldn't keep this magnificent lens at its widest all the time. It's magic is in the 2.8-4.0 range. Where other lenses don't start to come alive until f8, this lens gets magnificent at much more open spots. Its performance at 1.8 is good. Great even. But don't limit yourself. Besides, for people and cats, the Bokeh at 2.8 is perfect anyway. The common gripes for the 45 is that it's plastic and cheap. It may be plastic, but it in no way exudes the feeling or concept of cheap. It's a high-quality plastic and does not feel Fischer Price cheap. Instead, it has a confident weight and balance and inspires confidence with its precision. Both of these lenses are unique and somewhat niche products. If you shoot portraits, lots of cat/dog/animal pics, these are great lenses. But what if you don't? Well, they make for VERY interesting perspectives on street photography and they also do a great job at nature shots. Challenge yourself - go on a nature walk and only take these two lenses. After a couple hours, I'm willing to bet you not only start to get these lenses and the beauty in their inherent limitations, but you'll also wind up with some breathtaking photos. One note - maybe I'm stupid, but I had a devil of a time figuring out the lens hood on the 45. I must have tried a dozen different ways to force the darn thing on. You have to unscrew the existing outer ring near the lens elements and then it fits. RTFM. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bundle! The 75/1.8 and 45/1.8 lenses are known to be excellent lenses and I concur. To get both, plus the expensive and fantastic hoods, and cases, and a second lens cap for the 75/1.8 for use when the hood is in place, all for the price of a 75/1.8 alone ... what a deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent kit. Excellent value, I had long wanted to purchase the 75mm f1.8 lens and it did not disappoint. Great Bokeh, but certainly great performance in low light. Having the added 45mm f1.8 was a nice added bonus. A good set of Primes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sublime i'm an amateur for sure but some of the best photos I've taken over the last 5 years have been in the last 2 weeks with these lenses. Sharpness is great. 45 is plastic but still super solid. 75mm is a tank... love it. Love them both. The 45 rarely comes off my Olympus OM-D EM5ii. I also have the 12-40mm 2.8 pro but the 45mm is by far my favorite. With all the extras and the extreme value of this bundle you can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bargain for two excellent prime lenses The decision about which of these primes to buy was resolved by the savings involved in purchasing them as a package. Obviously useful not only for portraits but for situations where medium telephoto might be in order for a while. The 45mm is very compact and unobtrusive. The 75mm is larger and heavier but offers more length and a more shallow depth of field, and is one of the highest quality lenses available for MFT. Critical! The LH-40B lens hood DOES FIT the 45 mm AFTER YOU UNSCREW A SMALL PROTECTIVE RING from the front of the lens!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb lenses with great bokeh These portrait lense kits is must have in your list. Not many to said about these lenses as so many possitive review from these both lenses out there. Yes I'm a bit odd with 75mm because you need more space from your object. But once the shutter release.. you will love the result. Yes bokeh.. I love bokeh.. and these lenses will give you a smooth and creamy taste bokeh on your picture. As I said, must have items. Wonder when Oly will deliver 25mm/42.5mm f/0.95 after they just realeased 25mm f/1.2 in this year photokina.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a good deal I've just started to use the two lenses. The pictures are very sharp, focusing is fast and precise. The set was well priced and included the lenses, hoods and pouches. B&H delivery was very good.
