The housing provides access to virtually all camera functions via mechanical push-button, knob/dial, and lever controls. It also features an ergonomic design with two grips that offer improved handling and attachment points for optional lighting arms. Built for durability, especially resistance to corrosion, the housing is constructed from an anodized, machined aluminum alloy and stainless steel.

The AD500 ships without a required lens port, and various interchangeable ports are available to accommodate a wide array of Nikon lenses. For full compatibility information, see the Port Chart.
