Pearstone IMA-1030 Overview

The IMA-1030 from Pearstone is a switchable in-line attenuator that can be inserted between a high-output microphone and the input of a mixer or preamp to pad the input level and avoid distortion.

The IMA-1030 connects in-line between a low-impedance or phantom-powered condenser microphone and a mixer and allows you to dial in -10, -20, or -30 dB of attenuation. It features XLR female to XLR male connectors and a fully shielded metal case to prevent interference.

I use this attenuator to drop the volume from a hot piano mic, and thus get some headroom on the board to adjust as needed for the mix. No loss in fidelity noted, no added noise either. All good!

It does pass the phantom power thru it. It does not generate the phantom power.
