Auray ISO-SUB Overview

The ISO-SUB Subwoofer Isolation Stabilizer from Auray is for improving the sound and resolution of a subwoofer. It is used to reduce vibrations and unwanted resonance that can make a subwoofer sound muddy, and is ideal for home theater, studio, and stereo-system applications.

A sturdy, fabric-covered wooden base with EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) padding isolates and stabilizes the speaker, and a high-density acoustic foam decouples the speaker from the floor so low frequencies sound clearer and more focused. The ISO-SUB's design preserves the accuracy and clarity of your subwoofer and decreases the transmission of vibrations to adjacent rooms and other spaces.

Improves the Sound of Your Subwoofer
Without the proper isolation, a subwoofer can sound muddy. The ISO-SUB provides a subwoofer with a high-density acoustic-foam platform that minimizes vibrations and resonance to clarify and sharpen the SUB's sound
Minimizes Resonant Coupling
If the subwoofer makes other surfaces vibrate, it diminishes its clarity and accuracy. The ISO-SUB minimizes resonant coupling from the floor or stage so that all you hear is the pure, low-end bass sound coming from the subwoofer
Prevents Speaker Recoil
The EVA padding on the surface of the ISO-SUB prevents speaker recoil by eliminating the speaker's back-to-front motion. This stability enhances speaker accuracy by eliminating the transmission of vibrations to other surfaces

Auray ISO-SUB Reviews

Works well in my situation

I have a 1600 sq. ft garage, insulated frame construction with 12 ft ceilings. Four Klipsch R40M bookshelf speakers in the 4 corners, wall mounted. Driven by an older Sony Home Theater surround receiver. I needed a subwoofer and added a Klipsch 8" wireless model on the concrete floor. I didn't like the harsh sounds coming from it. This Auray product provided the solution. The cost through B&H was 30% less than available elsewhere. It arrived the following day after a 3PM order! I got it shipped for free with a small additional order I needed. The garage set up now sounds suburb largely thanks to the Isolation Stabilizer. A really great transaction in all aspects!

Great

question

Is this recommended for down-firing subwoofers?
Asked by: Gerald G.
This can work for any subwoofer that can fit on top. Whichever way the port fires out, this will minimize vibrations and resonance.

Are you supposed to remove the feet from your subwoofer to use this? All of my subs are larger than the pad.
Asked by: Douglas
When using the Auray ISO-SUB Subwoofer Isolation Stabilizer or any other isolation pad, removing the speaker's feet is not necessary. If your sub is larger than this isolation pad, look for another that is closer in size to your speaker. For example, the Auralex SubDude-HT Isolation Platform (BH #AUSDHT) is 18 x 22 x 1.75", the Pyle Pro PSI21 Acoustic Sound Isolation Dampening Speaker Riser Platform Base (BH #PYPSI21) is 15 x 23.3 x 3", and the Auralex Great GRAMMA v2 Amplifier Isolation Platform (BH #AUGGV2) is 30 x 19 x 1.75". You can also try a washing machine anti-vibration mat or create a DIY solution, such as using yoga mats.

question

How much weight will it support?
Asked by: EDWARD D.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not publish a specification for weight limit, however any subwoofer that fits the footprint would be fine.
