SLR Magic Cine 35mm f/1.2 FE Reviews
Well Made but Soft Wide Open
I use this lens with my a7R3A and it takes some used to since it's a manual lens with no electronic in it. If you were looking for modern sharp lens, this isn't it. This lens is good for video and artistic still photography. The vignette at f1.2 is atrocious. In my case, I don't mind for the kind of images I create.
Great for the price
Fun lens for the price. Fast and looks great. No, it's not as good as more expensive lenses but it's so cheap and the bocca is beautiful.
Phenomenal Lens
I love all the lenses in this kit, was super thrilled to finally get the 35. The color rendition and highlight rolloff is beautiful, it reminds of Cooke S5i's.
SLR MAGIC 35 1.2 - Sony A7III
Used this for photos and this is pretty good for the price. The magnifying really helps to focus spot onto the person/object.
its like a movie!
if you take yhis lens you can take a cinema movie!!
Absolutely Banging Quality For The Price
I shoot video and the first thing I must say is that these are 200$ lenses so naturally you should keep your expectations in check. 1. These lenses when open fully wide (f/1.2 for the 35mm, f/1.1 for the 50mm) are very soft, so shooting at f/2.2 in most cases is advisable. 2. That being said, the bokeh on these lenses is very pretty and the soft vintage look is very beautiful. 3. The lenses are both geared and clickless aperture. As a video shooter, do you know what that means? Precise focus pulling! Rack away! 4. I really would advise using an external monitor with these lenses, else you will get punished when you go to review your footage 5. As many other people have said, they are very heavy. They weigh approximately 400g and will tire you out if you don't lift. 6. The focus and aperture are hard to pull initially but become slightly softer over time. Or my wrist muscles have gotten stronger, I don't know. I fully recommend these, great job SLR magic, I will be buying more.
Outstanding!
I ordered the slr magic 35mm lens and absolutely LOVE the image output! This lens is great for cinematic shooting, although the edges can get a bit blurry adding a bit of a vignette effect, I actually love the way it makes my shots look! Five star review! Definitely will be purchasing the other lenses!
