Canon 4721A001 reviews

EC-B Focusing Screen is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent manual focusing help This screen is an excellent help for manual focusing, especially on longer lenses. With the newer 1D(s) MarkIII series it is a reliable way to check or adjust micro adjustments as well - no more peeping at focusing charts: do your adjustments real-time in the field. Downsides of this screen: you lose evaluative and spot metering, albeit the latter only for those focusing points that are situated at or near the center. All in all, I'd recommend this screen to anyone seeking better performance during MF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This should be the standard screen No matter how hard I tried to manually focus my EOS 1 Dx, it always seemed like a guessing game. But, slide this great screen into your camera and instantly, that split image makes accurate focusing a snap. It's super handy to compare the AF point to the split image. All SLR's used to come with a split image ground glass. This screen should be in your camera body, too. Perfect upgrade. Worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge help with manual lenses One of the big advantages of the EOS mount is the ability to use M42 and C/Y manual lenses, both of which I have an extensive collection of and prefer over many of the new EF lenses. This little inexpensive screen makes using those lenses a dream, and really I couldn't do without it now. If you're using manual lenses on the EOS 3 or a camera in the EOS 1 series, you need this screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for 5D2 Warning: On your own risk. I use this focusing screen for my 5D2, yes, it is not made for 5D2, a little modification will do. Now my 5D2 can focus manual lens easily (like contax and etc) without problem. Save a lot money if you have couples of other brands' manual lens (like me). A cheap China made adapter will do, let the focusing thing done by split image. Someone said it will influence the light meter but I do not aware the different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good in good light The EC-B is a very accurate focus tool in good lighting, but difficult to use in poor lighting even with f/1.4 lenses. In low light the EC-S super precision screen is a better choice, but there is no exposure compensation for it on the 1Dx,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great manual focusing at a price though. Excellent for eyeglass wearers to manual focus or to check auto focus, but there is a price. You do loose spot and center weighted metering. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. Other than that it works perfectly, you can finally tell when you are focused and what exactally is being focused on when using auto or manual focus. Well worth the compromise if you wear eyeglasses. Installation was a snap, very clear instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have... Absolutely fantastic! Just like in the old days when using manual focusing lenses, and excellent if you need to do focus manually in low light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the trick I got this for my 1dsii for better manual focus and it works great at faster than f5.6. Use CW metering for best results.
