The Light Cannon F-485 5500K High-Output LED Fresnel from Intellytech has a 7" lens that provides wide coverage with a variable beam angle from 15 - 50°. The F-485 has all of the benefits of an LED light source. It's very cool running yet manages to output the equivalent of a 4850 W quartz Fresnel while consuming just 1/10 of its power. That kind of post-purchase savings makes for a fast return on investment. What little heat that's generated is easily dissipated by the onboard fan which can be turned off when dead quiet operation is necessary. Light intensity is controllable from 0-100% without color shift from the light's rear panel, or you can control it remotely via its onboard DMX and monitor your settings on the F-485's digital display. The F-485 runs on 110-240 VAC current for worldwide use.

High Output and CRI

Whether shooting in spot or flood mode, the F-485 provides the user with a high output of 485 Watts. The Light Cannon Series is capable of covering large areas. The lights are ideal for matching daylight shooting while its high CRI of 95-99 renders colors vibrantly and faithfully. Those who are shooting slow motion will appreciate flicker free performance up to 3,000 fps.

Hybrid Cooling

The Light Cannon Series has a fan that can be turned on or off with the flick of a switch. When on, the unit has 100% power and the fan is whisper quiet. When the fan is turned off, the unit is completely silent and the output is reduced by 50%. The LED life is up to 50,000+ hours of use - equivalent to 15 years of daily use, 10 hours a day.

Strong and Lightweight Metal Frame

The metal body housing is made using strong, lightweight, and attractive aluminum for years of use in a professional environment. The high-strength tilt lock provides extremely secure locking, eliminating movement and slippage, ensuring that the fixtures will stay where you put them.

DMX Control

The Intellytech LED Light Cannon Fresnel is equipped with a built-in DMX 512 controller, allowing for brightness to be controlled remotely from a console, making it ideal for TV studio installations, theaters, stages, or conference rooms.

Digital Display

The Light Cannon F-485 with DMX features an LCD touchscreen that provides the user with a high degree of control and information.

question

What is the actual output of this light? I see different specs. Some compare it to a 2K tungsten, other to a 5k tungsten.
Asked by: Anonymous
According to the Arri photometrics calculator (was looking at this today to compare) Its practically equivalent to a 1K tungsten fresnel. In some cases it's a tad less, in others it's a tad more. But more or less, its a 1K tungsten fresnel. But keep in mind that this is for the 5500K temperature rating. Meaning at 5500K it is the brightest. So at 3200K it is lower, but not sure how much lower. Could be more so like a 650w? Not sure. But at full brightness at 500K it is a 1K tungsten fresnel equivalent. No where close to the 2K or 5K equivalent as mentioned.

question

I can see the fan in the back, the fan is silent or noisy??, how much could interrupt the audio of a video
Asked by: Sebastián
We've found the fan to be very quiet. We don't have microphones close to the lights however. In fact, we were filming in a conference room that had the usual office noise.

question

Can you mount any Chimera speedrings or Bowens accessories?
Asked by: John Mark
Unfortunately, no, there is no speedring available for the Intellytech Light Cannon F-485 LED Fresnel. The only softbox or light modifier we carry that would be compatible with this fixture would be the Intellytech Softbox for F-300 and F-465 LED Fresnels, B&H # IN173007, which is dedicated for this light fixture.

question

Is it possible to change Hue via the app?
Asked by: Jonathan
Not with this one. This is the DMX version. You need the wifi version of this. I am will assume that the HUE is the color temperture and yes you can change it with the app.

question

Would the light output match/exceed a 1.2K HMI? Would it be less or as intense as a 2.5K HMI? (Say at 10 meters)
Asked by: Michael
This will not put out the equivalent amount of light. To give you an idea, Mole Richardson has a 900 Watt series of mono color lights (brighter, generally speaking, than b-color lights with similar wattages) and those are about equal to a 1.2K HMI. These are much more versatile color wise so it's not something to despair over, but they would need to be about twice as powerful to generate the amount of light you're talking about.
