Just expanded my launch and land options

I purchased the 3' diameter launch pad for my DJI mini 3 drone. It's a great addition when you need to launch or land on grass or dirt fields. It's a very robust product. It's nicely weighted and does not move when the wind picks up. It takes just a bit of practice to learn how to fold it back into the carry case. I've yet to test return-to-home to see if it consistently lands in a 3' diameter circle. But it's not too hard to line up and land manually. If I had a larger drone though, I'd probably recommend the 5' diameter.

I recently bought a lighter weight square landing pad. The size was plenty at 2 sq ft. I landed my mini 5 close to the edge and the pad was fluttering from the propellers 5 feet off the ground. The drone flipped at the landing, the only time i ever crashed it. So I bought the Hoodmans 24 & 36 inch pads. These stay put. I like a larger pad than I really need for the mini 5. The wind picks up in the middle of my flight and when I need to land sometimes it gets a bit challenging bc I like to land manually as i'm a beginner. The larger pads the Hoodman makes are solid weighted sufficiently on the edges and the material is tough. A larger pad I don't worry about precise landings, I can have stuff on the pad plus the drone while servising the drone in the field. And they are not a burden slightly larger like packing a tripod for a camera. A Hoodman is a few bucks more but cheap compared to the cost of a good drone and a fraction of the cost compared to a premium camera tripod. Just get a Hoodman if your pro or hobbiest.
