Available for download, Geist2 from FXpansion provides a dedicated environment for the creation of beats, the sculpting of instrumental timbres, the slicing of samples, and even the creation of an entire electronic song. This software also provides sequencing options, allowing you to sequence a simple pattern or an entire scene of music. You can record directly to its pads, if you wish, or utilize existing samples—either the ones provided by Splice Sounds, or your own, as chopped and arranged by you.
All sorts of modulations can be achieved via filtering, time-stretch/pitch-shift algorithms, step-automation, TransMod modulation, or by utilizing its panoply of on-board effects. Expansion packs are available, should you wish to use even more professionally produced samples. This software can be utilized as a stand-alone application or in conjunction with a host DAW in AU, VST and AAX plug-in formats. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows platforms.
