The Ultrastar 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal Enterprise Drive from HGST has a large 10TB capacity, ideal for disk-to-disk backup and archiving, RAID arrays, and Network Attached Storage (NAS). It connects to your system via SATA III, which provides you with transfer speeds of up to 6 Gb/s, and has a 7200 rpm spindle speed for quick access. Furthermore, it's equipped with Rotational Vibration Safeguard (RVS) sensor technology to prevent disk damage. This Ultrastar drive is reliable with a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) rating of 2.5 million hours.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchases for use in NAS I purchased 5 of these to use in Synology DiskStation DS1515+ 5-Bay NAS Server. I could not be happier. The setup was straight forward. The drives all work excellent and I have not had any issues. I do not have any speed or startup complaints.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will buy product again. I have used smaller Ultrastar drives in the past with no problems - reliability has been outstanding. Just installed 8 - 10TB Ultrastar drives in a raid like configuration with no issues. Assuming the reliability is as good as previous experience these are great drives.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Drive I own two of these 10TB drives both are now 1 year old. I have them in a personal computer for storage of 4K videos mostly but also store data as well. This drive does everything it should but my only complaint is about the partitioning of the drive. I'm using Windows 7 and after trying for days and with the support of HGST the only way I could get these drives to work with Windows 7 was to format the drive in 3 sections 4TB 4TB and approx. 2TB I prefer to have one big 10TB drive but really not a deal breaker. I'm guessing its probably not the drive but a Windows limitation ? Computer is a Dell Precision 7910. Lastly these drives do not run 24-7 I turn them on and off about 5 times a day. Despite the limitation I am happy with them.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash drive! this drive should not be available to consumers, as it does not work at all. the power disable feature is just one of the massive problems this drive has for your average consumer, not to mention this drive will slow down your computer until the point it will take you 5 min just to log into your windows, this belongs in the garbage. can't believe i was fooled by B&H this much now i'm out about 770 dollars, you are thief's.
