DS-RX1HS Dye Sublimation Printer is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and Fast printer I love the DS RX1, it gives me 4X6 prints in under a minute. The greatest part about it, is with the customers, they watch prints under a minute, no wet paper and the printer evens cuts the paper clean. Sure glad I invested into this printer. One more thing, if you purchase the print server you can obtain extra income by allowing your customer to print from there phone. Now I looking into purchasing the DS RX1 also!!! I use this printer for my studio and also into the photo booth, great!! I can do 4x6 printer or split it in two 2x6. This printer do this by self without you need cut the paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very quickly with beautiful prints I have a DS40 printer already but needed something that could go 5 hours without reloading. I also wanted to have a backup in the unlikely event the printer failed at an event. So purchased the RX1HS. It seems a little less sophisticated than the DS40 and it's not quite as fast, but it's plenty fast enough for the work I do. The printer is faster than the delay in transmitting the wifi signal from the camera, so I'll never notice the difference in time. I think this will become my main printer and the DS40 will become a backup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy another! I purchased this printer for my first photo booth build. I did a bunch of research on other printers, found others that were either faster (just by a few seconds) or cost more/less. I found this one to be the best choice and I'm really happy with its performance. I watched videos on how to load and unjam the paper and it's rather a simple task when I actually did it myself. I had to play around with the settings a bit to get the colors to how I like it but I'm sure you would have to do that with other printers too. It prints fast and the quality is great. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I wish it was a bit lighter or more compact (I'm a small gal), but it's still very manageable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Every time I will try to print paper gets jam I followed all the instructions from the manual, website and youtube videos. I'm very disappointed I was expecting so much from this printer I had an event this past weekend I had to do a refund and extra fees for not printing the pictures from the Photo Booth the day of the event. B&H: I am very sorry to hear about the problem with your order. Unfortunately I will not be able to set up a return for the paper roll because it has been opened and used So $170 dollars in the trash (paper roll)...!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color quality Pros: Printer is fast and it gets away from the ink jet clogging issues. Cons: Out of the box I had extreme color and contrast issues. Prints were dark and reddish cast. After HOURS working with tech support I finally used a Spyder spectrometer to generate my own printer profile. Colors are now good. I finally was able to get their support to relate the issues with QC on their media. Is is apparently poor. I have invested 10-14 hours of work and 400 test prints to get where I am. I expect to have to adjust my profiles when I get new media. The WPA pro is great to connect BUT you cannot get to the ICM file in the software. Color is awful. I will continue to work with their support on this and will report back if I get it working. Not for the technically faint of heart. Forget the WPA

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get 2 and make sure your usb ports are fast Works like a true work horse. Take your time getting to now it before your gig. I havre printed over 4k photos from one so far. only issues are. for best results always use the same usb port and make sure it is the fastest port you have. send as many photos to print at once as possible buffering information takes it a bit of time from one sent package of prints to the next. if you send them one by one it is as if it takes its time reading each file. when you send a bulk amount of photos at once it just spits them all out. don't go switching between printing programs. every time you do it takes a min to adjust. I did 2 thousand photo fist night out with it. only problem i had was operator error. it was New Years Eve Party at Foxwoods Casino. Printer paid for it self and then some first night out. I have done about 10 birthday parties and 3 weddings since then Last wedding everything but the printer when wrong but because the printer didn't i still got the job done. Great product great work horse. print quality is great. yes there is better but your clients won't know if you don't tell them. My reason for not giving it 5 stars the pricing of the paper makes no sense. the 8x6 paper is perfect for 8x6 and 4x6, the 4x6 paper only works for 4x6 photos the difference is a line in the middle of the ribbon every 4 inches to stop you from printing 8x6 with it and forcing you to by the same paper for 100 more without the line the put in it to steel an extra 100 from you. i hate when companies do stuff like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic printer for the price Quality printer for a good price. Very easy to set up and use with a Microsoft Surface laptop; I used for first time with mobile photo booth and the printing was fast and color was beautiful. There were no issues with output for the volume of prints produced. The cost per print is a great return on investment. The printer is solidly built and heavy; it came with two different paper trays to catch the photos. The Paper film roll is not included with the purchase. The power cord is about 6’ long and USB printer cable is much shorter. This printer can not operate wirelessly - keep this in mind when deciding on the placement of the printer on during an event. I definitely recommend purchasing a case to transport the printer to ensure no damage.
