It works, it's fun to watch and Support is EXCELLENT
As the headline says, it works great. It's very quick to setup a printing job and fascinating to watch as it works. The ONLY difficulties I had were with software installation. The installer for the PTPublisher software didn't work. It couldn't install the device driver for the burner/printer. I finally determined that the trick was to use Windows Add A Printer, find the drivers that were extracted but wouldn't install and install it. The first install of the label software wouldn't work correctly, possibly because I installed it before the driver fix described above. Deleting and Reinstalling that software cleared up the problem (a nag screen that said there was no device to print a CD label to). The best news is Primera's Tech support via chat and TeamView! I was able to quickly contact the folks on the chat and they were able to perform both tasks above for me via TeamView. The PTPublisher software has obviously been around for a while (has the look and feel of Windows 3.1) but once you figure it out - IT WORKS. So the only star lost was for the problems with installation, inadequate on-line FAQ information and an older, less intuitive software interface. However, it should only be 1/2 a star since everything is humming now and their excellent relatively painless tech support experience more than made up for those deficiencies.
Doesn't Work Right
I was so excited to get this for my church! I've been wanting one for years. I set up the duplicator and it printed 3 single CDs as a test. Then, when I set it to batch produce at 17 (max is 20), it broke after about 6 discs. It won't print more than 2 at a time without an error and reset required. I can print one disc at a time on a pc, but I bought this machine so I didn't. $1500 and now I have to pay to send it back to Primera for an exchange.
