Pilotfly H2 overview

  • 1Description

This B&H Kit pairs the Pilotfly H2 Gimbal Stabilizer with the Two-Hand Holder, two items that can be used individually or together in supporting a camera. The kit also includes RM-1 Remote Control for operating the stabilizer from a distance.

The H2 supports mirrorless and DSLR cameras up to 4.9 lb and features a four-way joystick allowing for adjustment of yaw, left/right roll, up/down tilt, and 360° time-lapse control. The H2 has an ergonomic, detachable handle that can be removed to allow the stabilizer to be attached on tripods, extension poles, sliders, jibs, and, in the same way, on the Two-Hand Holder.

The RM-1 Remote Control enables you to control each axis of the H2, change modes, and perform Gyro calibration. It also has a timelapse function that lets you set up your gimbal for timelapse without programming any script.

It supports mirrorless and DSLR cameras weighing up to 4.9 lb and delivers 3 axes of stabilization. A Li-Po battery is integrated into the handle that provides an operational runtime of up to 26 hours.

The camera mounting assembly of the H2 offers multiple points of adjustment to allow you to find the center of gravity for all axes. The camera adapter plate is also left/right adjustable to support different cameras. All adjustments are done without tools but rather using thumbscrews and push buttons.

The H2 also offers two 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes on the sides (on one each side) for attaching accessories and one on the bottom for mounting on tripods, monopods, and other support devices.

Pilotfly H2 reviews

H2 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer & Two-Hand Holder Kit is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's heavy but it works well and the battery lasts a lot. I bought this kit to use with my Sony A7S II and Canon 5D Mark III and Mark IV. It is a little heavy and if it was just to stabilize Sony, it would have opted for smaller and lighter options. However, as I have Canon cameras that are heavier I had to use a larger model like this. At first it seemed that it would be impossible to calibrate the gimbal with the cameras but actually looking at the two videos that are on the B & H website and that teach how to calibrate I realized that it is very simple. The first time I took about 10 minutes and now I do in less than 5. The bad thing is that every time you change the lens needs to recalibrate but this happens for any Gimbal so I can not complain about this. At most the stabilizer is very bum and works perfectly well. The battery really lasts a long time and if you go out with it loaded you probably will not need to worry because it will tire of holding the gimbal long before it runs out. If you have DSRL cameras, large lenses or looking for a long battery life, I recommend this product and I'm sure you will not regret it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get the H2 Love the H2. Not happy with B&H shipping me a combo package with a broken seal. The two handle gimbal did not work. I will have to wait about two weeks for customer service to get me a new one. The two handle unit is extremely important. I am sure I will use it more than the single handle model. When loaded with a light weight camera like the GH4 or Pocket Cinema camera it works beautifully but you can't do this all day long. Overall I am pretty happy with my purchase not with B&H shipping me a package with a broken seal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but needs to have a cover for power switch Does a decent job, helps since it is much lighter than the ronin m. However they could improve with a way to keep the switch on the side from accidentally turning the equipment on during transport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this Gimbal The Pilotfly H2 is easy to set up and easy to exchange from the one hand to the two hand holder kit. This is my first gimbal that I've ever purchased and I think I've made the right decision. I have previously used other gimbals at school for my film class and they were not as great as this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from buyer beware I had high expectations for this gimbal, but it's been nothing but trouble from the beginning. I bought the two handle accesory kit, and whether I use the one hand original version or the two handle version, I have Micro Jitters in my footage rendering only seconds of my footage usable and the rest is to jerky to be considered professional. You need to be a very patient, near expert to use this royalty free feeling software to fix nearly all issues and support is a joke. in all honesty, it feels like you're the test pilot in the research and development in order to get this product to work correctly which is just not right. the tech support comes from Germany via email and that is if they reply it takes days if you even get a reply at all. I've been attempting to get basic footage with my a7siii Plus pancake lens and other Rokinon primes but it's been nothing but a nightmare to get this product work properly and consistently. in hindsight I wish I didn't buy this product at all and would wait for a better manufacturer that can get the product more easily to work for different setups much easier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BAD COMPANY: Poor Product/Poor Service/Poor Repair This product and company are a joke, do not buy anything from them. My Pilotfly H1+ has failed twice in 10 months (same issue), I was told to pay for the second repair and when it came back to me it was broken. The repair has left a screw thread compromised meaning the motor cover will fail. I have been insulted and now I feel like I have been robbed. Below is the post I left on their Facebook wall on the 17/10/2016, you can tell I am angry as this has wasted my time, money and patience: ******** PILOTFLY H1+ COMPLAINT - 2 Faults Within 6 Months + Bad Repair: *FAULTY PRODUCT, POOR SERVICE, FAULTY REPAIR* Please explain to me why I just spent 152 on a repair for a product that is under 12 months old, has failed twice and now the repair has been returned faulty? The Pilotfly H1+ gimbal has been returned to me with a screw loose which fell onto the floor as I opened the box, this screw can not be tightened which means the thread has been compromised. Is this the quality of product and repair you offer? Your company is a joke, you blame me for tampering with the unit (which was only 2 weeks old when the first problem was found) and now you take money off me and make a repair which leads to the product being broken? I demand a refund and I urge all customers to be weary of such a dire company. I have been insulted and now I feel like I have been robbed by a incompetent corporation who does not know how to treat creative professionals. I will make sure my thoughts and reviews are heard all over the internet as this is disgusting behavior. I am happy to send anybody the full Facebook chat we have had over the past 10 months so everybody can see how useless you are and how you treat your customers. I warn everybody that Pilotfly do not sell quality products, I warn everybody that Pilotfly do not do quality repairs, I warn everybody that Pilotfly do not have a quality after sales service. This company is a joke, the only thing worse than there products is their service. DO NOT BUY PILOTFLY. Below are some pictures I took today, this is the paid repair Pilotfly made to my gimbal which is under 12 months old and has failed twice already. You can see the screw is not tight and will not hold the motor cover on, it is only a matter of time before the unit fails again. Please note, the unit had a faulty USB port twice and Pilotfly has the nerve to say I had opened the unit (within 2 weeks of owning the product) and then closed it back up with non-official parts! Clearly their unit is at fault and I get the blame and have to pay. Again, disgusting behavior from a company of thieves and liars. A very disappointed, angry and upset customer. ******* STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, I can provide any pictures and copies of Pilotfly's communication if you need any proof of how they treat customers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I am a professional videographer who uses a Sony A7S, Sony & Canon glass, DJI Drones and a custom i7 GTX1080 64Gig PC rig to produce my work. I will never use Pilotfly again.
