Does its job well.

Seems well built and I appreciate the extension locks as I was coming from a Rode unit that required twisting the entre section. Its a little heavy and thick so if you had really small hands it would be more difficult to handle. I really like that I can reverse the head to be 1/4 or 3/8 without lugging along any adapters. I hope to get many years of use from this.

I was surprised by how much I liked this pole. It worked fine for me for about 6 months of regular narrative & commercial work as a beginner production sound mixer operating out of a bag, in hectic environments and putting it thru a fair amount of abuse. I liked the clamp mechanisms and the feel of the pole. It's rigid enough, feels good in your hands, and the length is just enough - I often use it at full extension - although I would have appreciated a bit of extra reach at times. Last week one of the fasteners finally broke. It no longer tightens all the way, and lets the pole split in two if you tug it apart. So, looks like it's time to upgrade to a k-tek pole, which extends about 1.2ft further, weighs about the same (even including the internal cable) and only costs about $260. If you need a simple pole for once in a while use, or to get you going as a sound mixer, or as a cheap backup, this one is great. However I'd go for the KE-110CCR if you're serious about booming but don't have the budget for a carbon pole. Just my 2c.

The E-Image BA09 does not have a spec for maximum weight capacity, but it has enough tensile strength to support most shotgun microphones and wind protection systems.
