The ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 Expansion Card provides a single Thunderbolt 3 port for motherboards that have an available PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, Thunderbolt header, and DisplayPort. The Thunderbolt 3 port sports a reversible USB Type-C interface and delivers a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s. The port supports USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s as well as DisplayPort 1.2, allowing you to connect multiple displays simultaneously. With USB Power Delivery specification, it charges USB Type-C devices with up to 36W of power. You can daisy chain up to six Thunderbolt-equipped devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port. In addition to Thunderbolt 3, this expansion card comes with a USB 3.1 Type-A port with 10 Gb/s speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! Worked completely as described on my Asus X99 II. Used the bottom most slot and then had to enable Thunderbolt in the BIOS and tell it what slot it was in. That's it. These steps weren't in the manual so hopefully this makes it clear what others should do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money So I got the card installed, updated drivers, bios and all that only to find that the USB passthrough doesn't work and I can only send displayport signal. I contacted Asus support and they told me that because I bought the card in USA and not in Australia (you can't buy it here) that I would have to send it to USA for them to fix, So waste more money than the card is worth just for them to look at it. Yet to find anyone on the internet that has got the card working. If only you could give this product 0 stars, this is the last Asus product i'll ever buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy it if you want to waste your money (and time!) I recently bought this card to use on my brand new PC that I built myself. I made sure it was supported by my Asus motherboard but after installing drivers first and card later there is no way that the motherboard can see it! I updated the bios, got in touch with Asus support which is almost non-existent and after installing and re-installing windows 10, there is no way I can use this card. In short, this was not a smart purchase. Waste your time and money if can afford it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless device It took around a week to get it working, but recently it decided to stop altogether. I cannot tell if its a hardware fault. Zero documentation makes this extremely difficult to install or maintain. I would not recommend this to anyone, stay well away
