Ruggard Journey 34 overview

  • 1Description

Store, protect, and transport your compact DSLR or mirrorless camera with an attached lens, flash, related accessories, and up to two extra lenses with the lightweight, black Journey 34 DSLR Shoulder Bag from Ruggard. This handsome bag features a large flap with a quick release buckle, and double-pull zipper closure. The main compartment has four padded, touch-fastening dividers for organizing equipment. A light gray interior lining makes it easier to locate gear in low light. Under the lid is a large, zippered, mesh accessory pocket. Small accessories are easily accommodated in the front exterior zippered pocket. Inside this pocket are two slip-in pockets, two memory card pockets with touch-fastening flaps, and a zippered mesh pocket.

Photographers will appreciate the neoprene water bottle/accessory pocket located on the exterior left side of the bag. On the opposite side is a strap for attaching accessories. Carry the Journey 34 Shoulder Bag by the padded top handle, or wear with the removable, adjustable, padded shoulder strap. The strap has swiveling snap-hooks that attach to metal D-rings on either side of bag. And on the back of the bag is a trolley strap that comes in handy when traveling with rolling luggage. Two strips of plastic feet on the bottom of the bag help protect it against abrasion. This well-made bag is constructed from weather-resistant polyester and ballistic nylon.

    Ruggard Journey 34 reviews

Journey 34 DSLR Shoulder Bag (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Bag I received this bag for free when I recently upgraded to a Nikon D500. The bag was part of the kit and I wasn't expecting much. I was happy to see that the bag is actually well constructed and has enough padding to protect the camera and accessories. It holds the D500 with the 16-80 kit lens, spare batteries, charger, cables, MB-D17 grip, memory cards, and cables with a little bit of room to spare. The only down side is that the bag is pretty packed with all of the above and there isn't much room left over for any additional lenses. This bag is great for a grab and go kit when I don't want to take a variety of lenses and/or camera bodies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag The case is a little bulky, but most camera bags are. The bag is fairly sturdy and I LOVE that the main compartment has two closure options. The top flap has a buckle to hold it closed (as you can see in the product photo), which is nice when I'm hiking and pulling the camera out frequently since I can undo it with one hand. My favorite part though, is that the top flap also zips so you can close it completely to keep dirt and dust out when you're not using your camera. The lid has a mesh compartment underneath to store small items, and the front zipper compartment has a zipper compartment, two organizer pouches, and two mesh memory card holders that velco shut. Inside the main compartment, my camera fits nicely in the center, with room for extra lenses or speedlight. The interior padding can be rearranged and customized using velcro to make it perfect for whatever gear combination you're carrying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely made but a little small This bag came with my new Nikon camera. I took it out for a test run last weekend. The bag itself is really well made. It has a lot of little pockets to organize your gear a feature that I like a lot. The strap is very comfortable even after hours of carrying around your equipment. It's a really nice little bag. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the size. If you only carry one camera and a couple of lenses around on shoots then this is a good bag for you. However I tend to have more than one camera, several lenses, and quite a few accessories on my photography shoots so this bag just isn't large enough for my needs. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to pack light on the gear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Underwhelmed I packaged up my old Canon camera bag and gear and sold it with the view of getting the 5DIV, which included this bag. That was .. a huge mistake. As far as these small bags go, they're not the best for a number of reasons but I found this shoulder bag to be almost useless. Throw your camera in and any decent lenses other than a kit lens doesn't have room to breathe. The bag bulges which makes it not zip up well and there is little to no room for any additional gear. Maybe if you only have one lens and a trigger this bag would be decent but anyone who doesn't want to lug a backpack around and opts for a smaller bag.. go with the stock Canon bags. Worlds better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for a free bag I got this with my Nikon D750 as part of the kit. It's OK, but not really big enough to fit the camera with the lens attached. I have been able to squeeze in the body (loaded sideways), 24-120 zoom lens and an 80-200 zoom lens, but it's not really ideal. The inside zipper does not zip all the way around with this combination of items. The bag seems to be made pretty well and should last a while. The shoulder strap does not stay on my shoulder with some types of shirts. It's useful for some stuff, but I think I'd buy a different bag if I had to pay for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from To Small to be Pratical The bag was provided as a sort of gift with promotion when I purchased my new camera. The bag is well made and seems to be sturdy. However, it is much to small to be used with the camera that I purchased. Even if I removed my go-to lens, I could only put the camera and some accessories in the bag. I would have to make other arrangements for the lens. I will probably use the bag with my bridge camera, or give the bag to my granddaughter to use with her camera system. I would recommend the bag to someone who isn't looking for a solution for their high-end system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd always want to have one of these for my adventure travel I used it for a trip to Africa. It is very sturdy so I feel confident that my lenses are protected and has tons of pockets, room for lenses, batteries, cords and the camera body; and has a strap so that I could use it separately from my backpack on days when I wanted to travel light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bag This came as a freebie with the camera I bought at B&H, but it's certainly worth paying for. There are three pockets, a front one for filters, another outer one on the side (open, no zipper), and one inside with a zipper. The dividers that come with the bag are study but soft. The bag itself is adequately padded and made of tough cloth. The strap is strong and light, and the metal clips and plastic latch on the front are all quite durable. The main compartment inside fits my DSLR body with a 50mm lens, a telephoto lens and a battery pack. I don't think you could get two fx zooms plus the camera body into this bag, but it easily will carry an extra battery, several filters, and other odds and ends, like blowers, cleaning cloths, etc.
