    TP-Link LB120 reviews

LB120 Wi-Fi Smart LED Bulb with Tunable White Light is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay Away From TP-LINK If you're looking for a hub-free wifi bulb, stay away from TP-Link! I installed 6 out of the 8 bulbs I ordered today, and after just 1 hour, they completely went off and wouldn't turn on. I followed the directions exactly as they had it, I even updated the firmware. It's quite disappointing when not only the product doesn't work, but TP-Link support wouldn't help either. When I chatted with their rep, they were quite dismissive of the issue I was facing. They didn't even offer me suggestions of what to do. Now, I just wasted a ton of money on a product that won't work, from a company that doesn't care about those who purchase their product. Stay away from this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Programmable Light Excellent programmable light. It easily connects to home WiFi and once connected it can be accessed remotely from practically anywhere. Dimmable, with the capability to select light temperature (color), and to program it to turn on/off any time 24/7. You can also set up scenes for each light. For example, you can set up light intensity and color for watching tv and a completely different set of variables to use it as a reading light. Switch back and forth with a single button press on your smart device. A free download app, Kasa, is required to manage the light. I bought two and I'm buying more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enlightening! Simple to Install + White Color is Tunable. This is a review of a free demo unit received from TP-LINK, for testing and feedback, as part of their review program. The LB120 is a tunable-white LED bulb that's Wi-Fi enabled and controllable from anywhere, via the Internet. Installation was a breeze. I just screwed the LB120 into a standard light bulb socket and downloaded a free Kasa App onto a tablet (Android 4.1 or higher, Apple iOS 8 or higher). Now I can remotely control the LB120 from anywhere in my house using the Kasa App. I also control the bulb, over the Internet, from my office across town or when traveling. Not only can the LB120 be turned On and Off, I also adjust brightness and fine-tune the white color. The Kasa App can adjust the LB120 color from a yellow soft-white (temperature 2700k) to bluish daylight-white (6500k). Other outstanding features are scheduling, automation, and energy savings. While the LB120 is equivalent in brightness to a 60-watt incandescent bulb (800 lumens), at full brightness it consumes only 11-watts. It weighs 6 ounces. The shatterproof dome is frosted and the beam angle is 270 degrees. It is suitable for environments having temperatures of -4 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Unlike CFL light bulbs the LB120 reaches full brightness with no warm up time. At 100% intensity it has a 25,000 hour lifetime. Incandescent 60-watt bulbs typically last only 1,000 hours. So, one LB120 should last as long as 25 incandescent bulbs. Moreover, switching to the LB120 from an incandescent results in an 83% energy savings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy setup with Android & Alexa, outdoors On the fence between smart light-switch vs bulbs (each has pros & cons) so giving this a shot on sale. Using it as an outdoor light (enclosed and out of the rain) on a timer. Paired with the Kasa app no problem, and also works with Alexa no problem. Happen to be using TP-Link router as well. Light is bright and tuning works well, will consider using one indoors as well. It did need immediate firmware upgrade via the app, which went smoothly. Time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wifi Bulbs Work Flawlessly with Alexa I couldn't be happier with these Wifi bulbs. I ordered several of these bulbs to put in lamps and light fixtures. They have a great color temp range and provide a nice clean, easy to read by 6500k. They use the 2.4GHz wireless frequency not 5GHz, but that really isn't an issue especially if you have a multi-frequency, multi-band router. It's nice to isolate all your smart home devices on a separate band from your other devices. Amazon Alexa integration is easy and works great. You can link multiple bulbs together in the Alexa app. The bulbs are also very easy to setup using TP-Links Kasa application on Android. These are the best light bulbs I have ever purchased and the best light bulbs on the market today. No hub is required and they have great connectivity. Five out of Five stars. You will not regret getting these bulbs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this product Although the quantity and quality of light is good, the networking is poor. Using the app, I lose connection almost every time the bulb is switched off, even though this is said to work in the documentation. So, unless you want to re-pair each bulb every time you use it, stay away. One theory: most current WiFi systems use both 5 and 2.4 GHz. I suspect the bulb startup cannot deal with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! My first smart home product and I love it! Didn't think I'd care much. I was just curious and it was a daily deal so maybe half the regular price. I live in an apartment and don't consider turning lights on and off a big deal. However, for my bedside lamp, being able to turn it on or off or dim it by voice is GREAT! I love ability to select/change color, but do wish I could do that by voice, rather than only in the app. Since I only have one bulb (I gifted the second one) I named it light so I can just say turn on the light. Love that I can say dim the light to x percent so I can get anything from very bright light to barely there. Surprised how much I like this product---not silly at all! Key feature for me was that this product doesn't require additional hardware (hub). Also am planning to get a google home mini and it mattered to me that these bulbs are compatible. In sum: love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The next level of cool factor I had 4 of TP-Links smart plugs controlling each room of my apartment and I enjoyed their app, Kasa, and integration with Google Home. I got two of these for hanging lamps over my kitchen island and I love them. Updating the firmware was easy, and they worked well once I grouped them together as a pair, and then grouped them with the rest of my kitchen lights.  One pet peeve I have with these is the automatic temperature setting (Circadian mode). It does a great job mimicking the current sunlight, but what I didnt realize was that it also sets automatic brightness levels with the sun. So if you use these as any kind of primary light, once the sun goes down, it will be set to 5% brightness until dawn. Its a bit of a pain to have to reset the brightness of it to use at night, but it does go back to its automatic setting once its turned off and back on. For this picky user, one annoying feature does not take away from its cool factor, I still love them.
