The Wooden Camera Pass-Through Top Plate for RED DSMC2 Cameras attaches to the top of your DSMC2 camera using four captive screws and provides additional accessory mounting points. The plate also incorporates the 26-pin LCD and 3-pin trigger connections, passing the signals through to the camera connections. This allows you to mount your RED LCD monitor and Trigger Grip as you would on your camera without the plate while providing multiple threaded accessory mounting points.
The plate incorporates 61 threaded 1/4"-20 mounting holes along the edges and top, as well as two 3/8"-16 threaded holes and 4 x 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes with ARRI Anti-Twist divots. An additional two 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes are reserved for use by the LCD connector. The Top Plate is vented, allowing air from your camera's top fans to pass without obstruction.

Gambling with a lot of money
I used this on a Gemini, had my cam on a high hat on the ground for a shot on a hot day and the next thing you know, the camera won’t boot up. We missed an important shot. Red blamed this top plate saying it ended up frying the motherboard. $1700 repair. It’s the right price, right size, right functionality... just can’t trust it.
DANGER!!! DO NOT BUY THIS
So I have had this plate for a year and though my camera would boot up my screen wouldnt at times or it would have error messages. I sent it back to wooden camera for repair and they assure me it is perfect. I then sent it into RED and they assure me the plate is the problem and I should not be using this. After some research I have found many people that have the same problem and even some people have fried their video boards on the camera because of it. Save yourself!!!!!
