Get your gaffer tape, because without it this hood (supposedly designed for the lens) will never stay on. Just poor design.

I bought this hood but it doesn't seem to fit my Mark 1 Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 - is this only for later models? Seems slightly too large (like a mm or two).

Yes, you can thread filters to the lens. The hood attaches with a bayonet.
