Does what it says on the box, with some limits

So this does what it says: converts R-mount lenses to L-Mount. It's better than the Metabones adaptor in the sense that you get f-stop information back from the lens, but it's a little expensive for just that. I think it can also identify the lens itself for the image metadata, and have tried setting that up on the SL3, but haven't had much luck yet. If you don't care about better metadata, go for the Metabones one. I just like knowing what f-stop I was using on a particular shot when I'm reviewing images from a shoot.

This adapter exceeded my expectations. It correctly identifies SL ROM equipped lenses and transmits the Exif data to the SL. This includes zoom settings, e.g., 65 on the 35-70 Vario-Elmar-R when the lens is set to 65. The tripod foot is incredibly sturdy and easily removed without tools. Great Leica design. This is a must for those who have, or want to acquire, R glass.

Will this work with L mount cameras like Lumix S1, S1R, including the transmission of lens information to the camera?

Although it may work with other L-mount cameras, it has not been tested to our knowledge with any other camera than the Leica SL. The results may vary.

Does this work on the Leica T?

Yes but with a qualification! The R,M and SL are traditional full frame 35mm cameras. The T is a half frame 35mm camera so there will be image differences. Per the manual that came with my R-Adapter-L, it can be used with all Leica camera models .
