Rode HS2 Overview

The pink/small HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone from RØDE is a low profile, ergonomic microphone that provides clean, clear and pronounced audio for applications such as public speaking, lectures, conferences, or anywhere a microphone needs to be in close proximity to any presenter's mouth.

Featuring an adjustable, corrosion resistant stainless spring-steel boom arm and headband, the headset has hypoallergenic silicone ear strips for maximum flexibility and comfort. Coated in a durable ceramic painted finish in either black or pink, the HS2 is available in two different sizes (small or large) to ensure a perfect fit for any individual.

Furthermore, it is connected via a 4' braided and shielded Kevlar reinforced cable, terminating with a gold-plated 1/8" TRS mini-jack output connector, which has a removable locking nut that ensures a secure connection to a wide range of recording devices and wireless transmitters.

Finally, the HS2's lightweight, comfortable fit, low self-noise, minimal appearance, and user friendly omnidirectional polar pattern make it an ideal microphone for film, television, video, theatre, house of worship, and live vocal performance applications.

What Rode transmitter is compatible with this? No the wireless go right?
Asked by: Adriana
The Rode HS2 Headset Mic can be used with any of the Rode wireless transmitters that have a locking or a non-locking 3.5mm TRS input. Rode's tech support has confirmed that the locking ring on the mic's connector is removable so the HS2 can be used with Rode's Wireless GO, Wireless GO II, and RodeLink transmitters, as well as with wireless transmitters from other manufacturers that use the same type of locking 3.5mm TRS connector with Sennheiser style wiring or with recorders like the Zoom F2 and the Tascam DR-10L which both have a locking 3.5mm TRS mic input, and recorders and cameras that have a standard non-locking 3.5mm TRS mic input. Older versions of the HS2 that do not have a removable locking ring can be used with the RodeLink transmitters and other transmitters that have a locking 3.5mm TRS connector with Sennheiser style wiring, as well as with recorders with a locking input like the those mentioned above.

This model is listed as "Small", are there head-size dimensions for this this size?
Asked by: Egypt
According to the dimensions in the specs tab this is based mostly on the length of the boom arm for the microphone and the width is a little bit wider. Small is H: 2 x W: 4.3 x L: 7.7" . Large is H: 2 x W: 4.9 x L: 8.1". This is not based on any particular head-size.

What audio pack would be needed to use this headset on Zoom calls or Skype?
Asked by: Bayard
The HS2 headset can be connected to any wireless microphone transmitter. The mic has a hardwired 3.5mm connector but can be used with a variety of adapters for compatibility with transmitters that require different types of connectors. The mic can also be used with a USB audio interface for direct connection to a computer. For a wired connection to your computer, you can use the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter (B&H # ROVXLRP) and Polsen XLR-USB-48 XLR to USB Audio Interface (B&H # POXLRUSB48) which is very easy to use. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows, does not require any drivers to use, and the USB cable is included with the interface. The same interface can be to connect the output from a wireless receiver. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat for further assistance and we can help you to select the best options for your application.

Can the Rode Hs2 be used as the Rode Wireless Go?
Asked by: Wemerson
Hello Wemerson. The Rode HS2 now has a locking nut that works for the RodeLink systems, however the Wireless Go doesn't have the locking connection. To use the HS2 with the Wireless Go, simply remove the locking nut and store it for later.
