It is not meant to be on 24/7. This is a home theater projector and if left on 24/7 it will burn our rather fast.

Has anyone have issue with the power problem (not power on at all)?
Asked by: Leo
When did you purchase it, and many hours has it accumulated already? As per my research finding, many people received refurbished unit from Epson when the project power failed during the warranty period…but when the warranty rans out…it will be $2000+ go down the drain... I am contemplating to purchase the 5040 or the recently released 4010 (which shouldn’t have the power issue). The price differences as of today is only $200 between these two models. 5040 has much better over image quality, but I am hesitating to buy it due to the wide spread power failure problem…it is a dilemma…

question

Does this projector create a lot of noise and is there an ECON or similar mode to lessen power consumption, thus lowering the noise the fan gives off?
Asked by: Ryan B.
When watching a film any fan noise blends into the background. In ECO mode you barely notice it even during quiet sections of a film. In other modes you might notice it in quiet sections. Overall the fan noise is acceptable. In my set up the projector is ceiling mounted approx 6.5 ft / 2m above my head and is a little bit behind. I run mine in ECO most of the time bc it's in a basement.

question

I have a universal mount already with a JVC projector and the screws look different. What screw size would I need with this Epson projector and can I use the existing Chief universal mount? I just don't see anything about the screw size... Thank you!
Asked by: Stephen
The 5040 Epson User manual had no info on the thread/screw size on the mount holes. So I read the answer here that indicated M3 and bought them. WRONG! This projector (at least mine purchased 3-2018) has M4 screw threads.
