Heavy-Duty Light Stand (Black, 13') is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 107.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent extra tall mic stand for the price Purchased this light stand to be used as an extra tall mic stand and it worked beautifully - and at about a third of the cost of an extra tall mic stand. Just needs one 1/4 to 5/8 adapter and your set to go. It's rated for the weight of lights, so one or two mics is a very light load. The base is wide when the arms are fully extended, making it very stable when up around 10' (it will go higher, but I only needed about 10'). Just need to be careful when loosening the sections for lowering - they could collapse quickly and dramatically. Also, it's surprisingly not any heavier than a high quality regular mic stand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the money I tend to be rough on stands as I mostly do location photography. So far, these stands have put up with the abuse I have put them through. They have a nice wide footprint too, which is very useful when I have my boom arm with strobe, med. softbox and 11lb counterweight. The don't wobble at all with this setup, and I feel safe that the rig won't come crashing down on the model or client. That's a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Priced Right. I received two of these and immediately ran them up to the max to determine the stability. At 13ft i would shave a monopod attached to it but I'd be confident with a flash. It's pretty stable considering the height. On previous reviews I've seen one person say they really liked the cushioned release when you loosen the set screw. There is no cushion. It will drop like a rock so be aware of that before you purchase them. It's not a big deal if you know there's no controlled drop, but you should know that up front. For less than $ a piece, it's a good purchase. They are long though. About 42 inches all folded up. I had to buy a separate case for them to transport.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work well for its intended purpose This is a sturdy stand, and I think it's well worth the money. However, a couple things to consider: 1) This is NOT air cushioned. Which is fine, as long as you KNOW it's not air cushioned. I have a couple other stands that are, and this one obviously behaves much differently when lowering a light with modifier. We've marked this stand so everyone remembers it's gonna drop fast. 2) I also have a couple of PCB 13' stands. Construction quality and durability seem to be very similar, but the PCB stand has a larger footprint (the diameter of the PCB footprint is approximately 8 inches larger). That makes this Impact stand good in tight spots, but it's bad for larger modifiers or when using a boom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forget lights, this is a great MIC stand I don't know nothin' 'bout lights; this is a great microphone stand. Gets the mics up high where you need them for recording large groups. It is plenty sturdy enough for even a couple of large stereo mics. It folds down to a small, light package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Light/Audio Stand This light stand was easily converted with a 1/4 to 5/8 threaded adapter. Worked great at about 13 feet with dual Rode NT 5 condensor mics attached. An inexpensive solution to overpriced auido stands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killer Stands TALL, strong, lightweight stands that are great for all sorts of lights. These stands support both of my heavy 1k Fresnels very well. No wobbling what so ever. I haven't needed to sand bag them yet!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stand I got this stand for my art studio. It is fairly sturdy, goes up13' and is reasonably priced. No air brakes so be careful when adjusting.
