CMC Pro TCDR-ZZ-SB Reviews

Professional quality CD-Rs I was looking for.

Starting with the HHB stand alone machine I purchased at B&H and then with my Dell computer I burned so many CD-Rs between the years 2000 and 2010. But not so many after that. About a year ago I got back into burning audio CDs and needed to find the best blanks to invest in so I could avoid the occasional issues I had encountered in the past. I had used a lot of consumer different brands. Most of them were pretty reliable at first but I think they must have changed the factory or at least the process they were using because the quality wasn't as good during the last few years. I never burned too many coasters and the vast majority of them still play today. (The exception being the fifty HHB professional discs that came with the CD-R 850. Most of them no longer play.) The best were the Fuji discs and the Memorex with white labels. After a few years Memorex switched to a frosted silver label and though a few of those are still perfect 95% have rusted. The discs have either partially or totally turned brown. I had similar results with TDK, Sony and Philips. Most of the brown discs still play but I'm afraid they may continue to deteriorate over time. When I began researching last year I came across CMC Pro discs at Amazon where I had a credit from a returned gift. The positive reviews convinced me to try them. After burning over one hundred I haven't experienced a single failure. That track record may be partially due to the more reliable hardware and more stable software I now use because all of my old leftover blanks (TDK and Sony) that I burned while waiting for the first batch of CMC discs to arrive burned successfully as well. As far as longevity and rusting go only time will tell but I'm confident I made a good choice with the CMC Pro CD-Rs. I'm just glad that I'm able to purchase them from B&H where I got a lower price than I did at Amazon. And they were delivered in 24 hours at no charge . So if you're still stuck in the (recent) technological past and in need of high quality blank discs to burn you won't be disappointed if you purchase CMC Pro CDRWs at B&H Photo.

Buy this one that comes in a hard, plastic pack, rather than the version in shrink warp. Those cost a bit less, but pulling off the wrap can be a bit hard, and sometimes, some bits remain stuck on. Also, where are you gong to put them all, after you unwrap them? Unless you already have some hard containers such as this.
