Bright Tangerine Titan Overview

The Bright Tangerine Titan Support Arm, in slate gray, introduces a new technology to articulating arms in order to better support monitors in cine applications. Instead of the common rosette-type center mechanism that immediately becomes floppy when loosened, the Titan Support Arm has a friction-based center mechanism supporting up to 17.5 lb. The arm measures 11" from end to end and comes with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 endpoints while supporting optional interchangeable ones.

When you loosen or tighten the center joint, it does so gradually, and the arm articulates with a corresponding amount of friction. One advantage of this is that you won't accidentally loosen the arm to the point that your monitor flops and crashes against your camera. If the arm, for example, is three-quarters of the way tight, it will still keep its position when you let go, but it will also let you further adjust the position without having to loosen the center.

The reinvented design is based on a new center mechanism Bright Tangerine calls "core transmission technology." Approximately 2.5 tons of pressure is generated at the center point and distributed through pistons up the two segments of the arm to the ball bearings at the endpoints. The result is effective friction capable of handling the full payload of the arm.

Another highly useful feature of this arm is that the 1/4"-20 endpoint remains adjustable even after the arm is fully tightened. This allows you to fine-tune the position of your load after everything is set up. Although adjustable, this endpoint won't move on its own but rather only if you put pressure on it by hand. In this way, you can make adjustments as needed throughout the shoot without making any changes to the other settings of the arm. Additionally, the 1/4"-20 end also has a mounting disc to provide better support for your monitor when making these micro-adjustments and in general.

Other features of the Titan Support Arm include over-tightening protection, which ensures that there's no way to over-tighten the center joint. At a certain point, it locks and can't be tightened any further. Such a design also prevents over-torquing of joints and wear and tear. The Titan Support Arm is made of anodized aluminum with hardened, damage-proof stainless steel parts. While looking rich in appearance, it's also built to withstand harsh weather and on-set conditions.

This says Interchangeable 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 endpoints, does this mean you can get two 1/4-20 mounting options, or one of each and you need to adapt one side?
Asked by: Derek
It comes with both endpoints but 1 end will need to get adapted to make both side the same.
