TP-Link HS110 overview

  • 1Description

Control up to two devices in your home or office from anywhere in the world by plugging them into these standard three-prong HS110 Wi-Fi Smart Plugs from TP-Link. Each plug enables you to turn on and off devices such as a lamp, fan, or coffee machine. The Smart Plug connects to your iOS or Android mobile device via Wi-Fi, allowing you to access any item plugged into the outlet through the free Kasa application.

Once connected, you can set a schedule for your devices to follow, or use the away mode, which will automatically turn your devices on and off, giving your home a lived-in look. Furthermore, the energy monitoring feature analyzes the device's usage, enabling you to evaluate its real-time weekly and monthly power consumption. Smart Plug is compatible with Amazon's Echo (available separately) for easy-to-use voice control of plugged-in devices.

    TP-Link HS110 reviews

HS110 Wi-Fi Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring (2-Pack) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from First two weeks: working flawlessly and easy to set up I have four of these in my house. 2 are running scheduled timers for lights and 2 I need to control when home or away. Pros: - Seems to have a good signal even in far corners of the house - No problems (so far) controlling through the internet when away from home - Fairly easy to set up - Quick response time when turning on/off from Kasa app - No smart hub required for most functions including internet remote control. Cons: - I don't love that the Kasa app keeps my WiFi password forever. (It helps when setting up new units, but there's no option to forget it.) - I *hate* the Kasa privacy policy. It does nothing to protect consumers and they can change it at will. TP-Link can do anything with your information. Technically, they could even sell my WiFi password to a third party. I would not use a camera with Kasa's policy. Minus one star for this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product. Poor design I love the features of this device. The only flaw I have had so far is the unit covers the lower power outlet enough that another cord can't be plugged in. I believe this device was designed for European outlets where they only have a single outlet so the footprint isn't an issue. It would have been easy to design this device to allow for the lower outlet to be usable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Technology but its Selfish I bought this smart plug to test it, to experience it. Its work brilliantly well. I can control them practically from anywhere on the globe. I just need internet connectivity. I am in love with these smart plugs. But it has one bad thing. It is bigger in size. At home, we generally have two sockets on board. If you plug this unit on top socket, you cannot use the bottom one. The shape of this smart plug occupies more space and hence leaves no space on second socket to be used by any other normal plug. So I called it Selfish. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart home made easy + Alexa Really easy set up, and control. Works great with my Alexa. Only con is that the smart plug is a bit bulky and can block another outlet. Made my Christmas tree smart!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but cover the second plug Installed 1 week and it has been good with scheduling. Wifi stays connected so far. Easy to install if you have used their other products such as smart switch.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 25% DOA rate isn't good, size is constrictive. I ordered four of these (two 2-packs). Of the four, one arrived totally DOA/inop. And it happened to be the first one I tried to configure. Bad first impression for this product. Overall functionality of those remaining three plugs which worked is fair. No HomeKit support, but works ok with Alexa. Energy monitoring in the app is pretty simplistic. I would like to see the ability for me to enter a value for my kWh rate and have the app display actual energy cost in addition to kWh usage amount. My biggest criticism is about the physical plug size. It's just barely big enough to block access to the outlet below it when connected in the top out let of a standard 2-outlet wall outlet. If connected in the bottom outlet it totally covers the top outlet, but in the top outlet, only the slimmest of plugs can be connected below it. Also, in a multi-outlet strip or, for example, my 6 outlet wall jacks, these plugs are also too wide to permit use of the outlet next to it. So in a 6-outlet wall jack these effectively block 3 outlets (the one it's connected to, the one next to it, and the one below it). Other than that, the 3 smart plugs that work seem to be reliable enough, at least during the week that I've had them connected. No lost signal, no lost wifi connections.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes two outlets No issues with the plug or software other than it takes up both outlets on a standard outlet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TP-Link - Kasa is much better then Wemo! I have both a Wemo Smart Plug and 2 TP-Link HS110 and I like the UI and UX of the TPLINK much better! they did a very good job, one thing I can say is that that the on/off switch on the TP-Link is not tactile or clicky (feels funny). I got the 2 pack on sale from BH for $30,
