This LanParte Extension Arm is specifically designed to work with the original handgrip of the Sony PXW-FS5 and a baseplate or shoulder rig (available separately). It allows you to position the handgrip at an extended distance from the camera, increasing the overall stability of the rig and making operation more comfortable. The extension arm adds almost 1' of length to the handgrip, and the included Arri-style rosette extension can be used to add just over 2" distance from the side of the camera rig. The rosette connection allows the arm to be positioned at whatever angle you prefer. This arm features a handily incorporated LANC cable, allowing you to maintain use of all the handgrip's controls.

LanParte FS5A-01 Reviews
Not too bad for the price
Its better than not having an arm with youre runnin-n-gunnin. However, it has one issue that will keep me from buying another one: The hand grip doesnt rotate at the end of the arm. It is locked into one position, and its an awkward position. I find that I have to take my hand out of the grip strap and rest the end of the arm on my palm when Im shooting. It works ok, but because my hand is then out of position, I have to look down at the hand grip to find the buttons every time I want to push one one of them.
You get what you pay for.
When attaching the Fs5 camera grip to the Lanparte Extension Arm theLanpartelocking pin doesn't line up correctly. After several tries theLanpartepin dropped into place after an hour of trial and error. However, it's very hard to remove the Fs5 grip from theLanparte Extension Arm after this pin locks into the grip. A drop of oil on the spring that pushes the pin into place might help. The release button feels flimsy and very cheap. (about to break) The attachedLanpartecable when extended and plugged into the Fs5 is very short. Way too much tension on the plug itself. The design of the handle feels sturdy enough to do some running gun video. The arm extends and locks into place for a pretty good feel. My guess is the locking pin, spring tensioner and release button will break and fail after some real world usage. It's way, way over priced for what it is.
