I purchased this charger to replace an old one that was about 12 years old. The new one is about 1/2 the size of the original, which frees up a little space in my case for travelling. I use two strobes, and ended up ordering a second one for this reason. The indicator light system has gone from a three different flashing rate on the original to a simple red/green on the new ones which I like as well! As always, B+H's service was first rate, including an excellent option for shipping to Canada.

I have used the old charger with the replaceable plugs (for the power input side) for years and years. No longer. The smart charger is smaller, lighter, equally fast, and the plug part shouldn't fall out.

Hi... is this charger from Ikelite or a 3rd Party ?? Does it also have a small LED informing you the status of the charging battery ??

It's from Ikelite, and is branded as such, but who knows where it was manufactured.
