Does the Breathe have to be detached from the bottom of the camera for use with a tripod?
As is, the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap would need to be removed from the camera in order to use the camera on a tripod. Though, there are accessories that can be purchased in order to keep the fastener on the camera while using a tripod if you have a tripod that uses the Manfrotto 200PL-14 plate or Arca Swiss plate.

Can you illustrate an attached strap? I’m lost and I want to buy!
I don’t have an illustration, but I just used the strap on a 10 day hiking and photography trip to the 4 corners region. It worked great and I was able to hike, climb ladders and have great access to my camera (heavy full frame Nikon). The strap was very comfortable.

Any issue with the supplied carabiners not having screw lock or similar?
None. Have used quite a bit on a daypack and backpack without any issues.
