Google GA3A00403A14 overview

  • 1Description

Enjoy ultra-high-resolution content with the Chromecast Ultra from Google. This device plugs into your TV or home theater receiver's HDMI port, enabling you to stream media from your mobile device or the web. It supports video with 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution for use with compatible displays. It connects to your home network via 802.11ac Wi-Fi or the included Ethernet adapter. Set it up with the free Chromecast mobile app, then send your favorite online shows, movies, music, and more to your TV using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

4K and HDR Support
4K UHD's high resolution enables improved clarity over 1080p Full HD while HDR provides deep, rich colors.
Note: To view content in 4K or HDR, a 4K- or HDR-capable display and reliable broadband internet connection are also required.
Remote Control from Your Device
Just tap the Cast button in mobile apps and websites you already use to start casting right to your TV. Use your phone, tablet, or laptop to play, pause, and adjust the volume; all without draining your battery
Entertainment Apps
Chromecast Ultra works with popular apps you like Netflix, YouTube, Google Play, Pandora, and more, enabling you to choose your favorite movies, TV shows, songs, sporting events, and games.
Note: 4K not available on all apps. Some apps require subscriptions.
Mirror Your Android Phone or Chrome Browser
See anything on your Android phone or tablet on your TV's larger screen, or use your laptop to cast any website from the Chrome browser. If it's online, you can cast it.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi Connectivity
Chromecast Ultra is designed to keep video resolution high and buffering low thanks to integrated 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support and a built-in 1x2 SIMO antenna system. Because content is streamed straight from the cloud, movies and TV shows play without interruption, even if you and your phone leave the room.
For users with slow Wi-Fi connections, Chromecast Ultra comes with a power adapter with an integrated Ethernet port, so you can plug directly into your home network.
Google on Board
Built-in Google support allows you to easily cast content from Google Play Movies, Google Play Music, YouTube, and Chrome web browser.
Google Assistant Support
Google Assistant is a digital ecosystem that enables you to interact and control compatible devices simply by using your voice. Additionally, app control lets you use your smartphone to access functions on the go.

Chromecast Ultra (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected The ONLY way I've found to get both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos out of Vudu 4k movies. Simple to use. If you can watch a movie, or listen to music on your Android phone, you can use this. It's one extra tap, and everything is on your TV. I will note, you do have to hard wire your network connection to enjoy 4k content. Not a big deal to me. It's plugged into the back of my Denon receiver sitting under my router. No complaints. Would recommend to anyone as a cheap way to send media from phone apps to your TV. Might be a drawback if you want the old school remote controller. This relies fully on your smart phone to navigate and control it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seamless and easy to use This iteration like other is completely seamless to setup and easy to use. I loved the previous design more than the current version however once its plugged in there is no difference in usage. the only thing that I have issue with is that the new adapter doesn't come with a detachable cable so I not have to use another plug instead of using one of the numerous USB ports on the back of the TV. oh well that isnt much of a problem so still 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from After some set-up woes, works beautifully Got this to pair with my new LG OLED 65C7P. Dropped a star due to setup issues. I'm a pretty tech savvy person and this took much longer than it should have - much longer than the OG chromecast I was replacing. That part aside, it works incredibly well. I have an AC router spaced about 5 feet from the chromecast, so wirelessly it worked pretty well - very little buffering with Netflix and HBO. HBO app got hung up a few times here and there. I added an ethernet cord (which conveniently attaches to the power adapter) and not it loads lightning fast with zero buffering issues. Even if you don't have a 4K TV, I'd recommend the upgrade if you can hardwire it. With a hardwired connection, it's like having a mini-computer hooked up to your TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The same great device, but with 4k and ethernet port. It's incredibly easy and fast to use. And this version has 4k 60fps support (tested with Youtube, it's amazing) and has an ethernet port in the charger (which then forwards to to the chromecast through the micro USB plug). Only thing is: you cannot use the USB port on your TV to power the chromecast if you want ethernet. You have to use the charger for that, which takes up yet another power socket.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Monitors your every move It will not work unless you grant Google access to you location (sharing your location is within Google's terms). And it has to have an internet connection, even if you just want to mirror or play content on your phone or tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it for certain set up I use this in combination of the iOS phone and Google Home app. I have a PLEX server set up to cast movies. I also am able to cast Showtime via Google Home to watch Homeland on Chromecast Ultra. It is faster to process the movie and no lag or synchronization problems because of the ethernet cable. Recommended if you have Plex or just use Google Chrome to watch shows a lot. If you have a TV that is CEC compatible and enabled, you can launch Google Home from the iPhone and it will automatically start both Chromecast Ultra and your TV with just the app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I cut the cable My son told me how he had cut cable by subscribing to HULU and getting Chromecast ultra. I tried this setup and I love it. Hulu is much less expensivethan cable and has everything I want in tv/movies/video. Couple that with my smart tv and it makes perfect sense. My iPhone is now my remote (among other things) and I was able to upgrade my Internet speed and still save money. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well. Good value for dollar. Works very well except for the following. There is no adjustment for aspect ratio, and so the picture is distorted on older monitors. Some of the controls and direct streaming options for certain content providers are available only on a smart phone, not on a laptop. The signal is occasionally dropped when the Chromecast Ultra is used to mirror a tab, presumably because this puts high demands on the Wi-Fi system.
