Hikvision PC140PT Reviews
Fit Well with One Exception
Bought this to hang my Hikvision DS-2DE3304W PTZ camera. Fit and finish was great with one exception. The 3304W comes with a mounting ring that is attached to the bottom of the camera. Took it off and mounted it to the Pendant Cap. However, I was unable to slide the camera back on to the mounting ring not attached to the Pendant as the mounting screws were sticking up too high. They come with two washers attached, a regular one and a locking one. These two washers cause the screws to protrude too high and thus the problem with the camera remounting to the ring. I spent over an hour trying to get the washers off just one screw without damaging the machine screw. Finally gave up and went to my local hardware store where $1.30 later I had 4 screws without washers that did the trick. Note that these are metric screws.
Problems with Included Screws and More
This is the unit recommended by Hikvision for my DS-2DE3304W-DE PTZ dome camera, but the screws supplied to connect it to the camera stick up too much to let you install the camera and get a seal. They are round head screws with two captive washers. You can install it by backing out the screws on the camera side, which leaves a gap that dust, moisture, and maybe bugs can use to get in. There is a nice gasket that goes to waste due to the gap. No plug for the cable hole in the side either, another entry point for bugs (I'll seal that). I plan to go looking thru my spare parts bin tomorrow for some flat head metric screws that will install flush. The second issue is the combination of placement of the mounting holes and the threads on the wall mount that it connects to. They do not result in the camera facing outward, its off to one side by 30 degrees. Of course, It can be backed off and secured by a lock screw, but it takes over 3/4 turn to back it off enough and the gap does not look good as bare metal threads show. Its a very well built and nice cap, just little things, but they are frustrating.
