The AXS-R7 4K RAW Recorder from Sony attaches seamlessly to the Sony VENICE, PMW-F55, and PMW-F5 CineAlta cameras, speeding up the 4K production workflow. This 16-bit linear recorder offers up to 6K capture for the VENICE, and up to 4K120 and 4K60 RAW recording for the PMW-F55 and F5 cameras respectively. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps, for playback with 10x super slow motion. This recorder also offers 4K Raw/X-OCN cache recordings up to 30 seconds while in standby mode (approximate storage time at 23.98p).

Will this record the 16-bit raw straight from the PXW-FX9, bolting on directly? Or will I also need the XDCA-FX9 extension unit to send a signal to the R7 recorder? Lastly, will it do the 6K raw? Thank you.
Yes, You would need the Sony XDCA-FX9 to record raw. However, The AXS-R7 is not supported on the FX9. At this moment the Atomos Shogun 7 would be the RAW recording solution for the Sony FX9. More info on the Shogun 7 - https://bit.ly/3PPynH0 Shogun 7 B&H # ATSG7AK
