Benro FGP18A Overview

The FGP18A Go Plus from Benro is an aluminum, 4-section tripod which offers a variety of studio-support amenities in a compact, travel-tripod design.

Sporting an impressive strength-to-weight ratio, the FGP18A can support up to 22 lb while weighing just 3.5 lb. Usable at either full height or ground level, the tripod can extend up to a maximum height of 60.6" or be lowered down to a minimum height of just 14.6". Its compact and travel-friendly design can be directly attributed to the reverse folding legs which break the tripod down to just 18.1" in length.

Each of the tripod's legs features a 4-section design allowing for the optional deployment of different leg sections to achieve varying heights. The legs also utilize Benro's sealed twist-locks which help to resist dust and moisture. One of the legs, marked with a blue ring, can also be joined with the center column to form a monopod - a useful feature for shooting in environments where tripods may not be permitted. The center column also features a unique lateral arm function which allows the column to tilt horizontally and lock in a wide range of different angles and positions.

The tripod's top plate features a standard 3/8"-16 mounting screw ideal for attaching most common tripod heads. Additionally, the FGP18A includes a carrying case and a set of interchangeable spiked feet for increased stability in dirt, sand, mud, and snow.

Great price for legs at $120 US. Love that it can convert to a monopod with little effort and the tripod configuration is very sturdy. Honestly the savings versus CF is worth it since you're adding very little weight going with aluminum

Huge upgrade for me. the twisting locks on the legs make setting up a breeze. Then it shrinks down to a size that can be strapped to a bag or bike. I was mainly interested in the horizontal arm, which makes macro and overhead shots a lot easier. It comes with a pretty nice bag that most people won’t use as well. You’ll need to buy a separate head if you aren’t upgrading from a previous tripod, so keep that price in mind.

Good product. Need 1/4 adapter for mirrorless camera or GoPr

Good Quality. The center leg helps to horizontally tilt so that you can shoot from the top point view. Notice that the head is 3/8, so for most camera nowadays that uses 1/4 head, you need an adapter.

I usually don't write review, first time I felt like I would like to write a review. 1 - very goo twist lock with nice function for the right price and weight. After comparing with all the major brand in hand, I went for this one for my everyday mid/compact photo tripod. 2 - I recently broke one of the connector by tripping it very badly. Even though i wasn't expecting a free repair or replacement, customer support reply to my right away on my email. And send me the replacement part without no questions right away. Don't had many customer support where i just felt thankful, and felt really good to have chosen this product and the brand. Really good product as well, and I cannot find any other product I like to replace with yet even for the double the price range.

This tripod is easy to use and can be adapted to suit your myriad needs. Hands down the best tripod I've owned in a while — and good for the price. Note it doesn't come with an adapter for your camera — this will have to be purchased separately.

I have a BENRO FGP18A & need to mount it to an iphone. Which mounting kit should I order to give me 360degree swivel please?
Asked by: STEPHANIE
I own a Benro IN00 Single Action Ball Head which would give you 360 degree rotation + 180 degree tilt in either direction. You however would need another type of mount/connector to hold your device that would connect to the Head.

I have 2 FGP18A tripods and would like to add systemGo GC269TB2 accessories similar to the kit that allows you to mount a laptop and camera to a horizontal center column. Is this possible and if so what parts do I need?
Asked by: Mike
You would first need the Benro 0-Degree GoCoupler 1 for SystemGo Series 1 Tripods B&H # BEGSC100 which will mount on the end of the column on the FGP18A. It can accept the Benro GoRail 2 Center Column (19.7") B&H # BEGSR250 . The column which is placed horizontally can use the Benro GoPlatform Laptop & Projector Platform B&H # BEGSPP while on the vertical column, you can place another ball head such as the Benro IB2 Triple Action Ball Head B&H # BEIB2TAB. https://bhpho.to/31sEPvn https://bhpho.to/2ZmI4Tk https://bhpho.to/2F9kWjp To get an idea of the set up, the following photo may help: http://bit.ly/2KMv8SJ

My first real tripod and a silly question, but I bought theBenro HD3A 3-Way Panhead with it. Can I remove the handles so that it all fits in the carry case or would that cause wear/damage to take them on and off all the time? Do you carry the head separate or ??
Asked by: Michelle
When traveling with, or storing the Benro FGP18A Go Plus 4-Section Aluminum Travel Tripod, one can remove the "head" that is mounted to the top of the center column. The 3/8" 16 male thread on the center column is very durable, and the inner 3/8" 16 thread on the Benro HD3A 3-Way Panhead is a high quality thread as well. To prevent extra wear/damage when re-mounting the head, it would be very helpful to carefully line them up. Also to prevent dust from getting into the head it would be good to cover with a protective bag when traveling or storing.
