Fujifilm 600018214 overview

  • 1Description

Designed for the Fujifilm G-mount GFX camera system, this GF 32-64mm f/4 R LM WR Lens is a wide-angle zoom offering a 25-51mm equivalent focal length range. Covering wide-angle to normal-length perspectives, this zoom is well-suited to everyday shooting applications, and the constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent performance throughout the zoom range. A sophisticated optical design pairs a trio of aspherical elements with one super ED element and one ED element to control both spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. Balancing the optical assets is an internal focusing mechanism that utilizes a linear AF motor to deliver quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance. A fluorine coating has also been added to the front element to repel moisture and the lens also features a dust-, freeze-, and weather-resistant construction for use in inclement conditions. Additionally, a manual aperture ring is featured for intuitive, tactile adjustment over exposure settings, and a Command position can also be set for camera-based control over the aperture.

Wide-angle to normal-length zoom offers a 25-51mm equivalent focal length to suit working in a variety of situations.
Constant f/4 maximum aperture affords consistent performance throughout the zoom range.
Three aspherical elements are featured in the optical design to control spherical aberrations for improved sharpness with minimal distortion. Also, one extra-low dispersion element and a super extra-low dispersion element are also used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for increased clarity.
An internal focusing mechanism is controlled by a linear AF motor for smooth, silent, and fast focusing performance.
Physical aperture ring allows for intuitive adjustment over exposure settings, and incorporates a C (Command) position to permit camera-based aperture setting.
The front element features a hydrophobic fluorine coating to repel moisture.
Dust- and weather-sealed physical construction enables working in harsh climates and temperatures as low as 14°F.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality

    Fujifilm 600018214 reviews

GF 32-64mm f/4 R LM WR Lens is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 star if you get a good copy I reviewed this lens on 7/7, giving it a 4-star rating because of the softness in the center wide-open at 44mm. I was suspecting sample variation, and turns out it is. I obtained another copy of this lens from B&H, this time the lens performs flawlessly! Beats Canon EF 24-70 II at all focal lengths. Highly recommended! Do check your copy once you've received it. A good copy should have: 1) sharp center wide open at all focal lengths 2) not much field curvature (corners should be relatively sharp if focusing on the center of the plane)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This lens is Prime Zoom-Zoom I am a prime kind of guy and loved the spectacularly sharp Fujifilm GF 63mm f2.8. In fact, I wrote the review currently showing on this site about that lens. But when traveling I wanted something wider that would allow me to capture more external architecture and interior layout. What I didn't was overlapping focale lenghts. Remdy, I sold my 63 2.8 and purchased this 32-64mm f4. With 9 aperture blades the IQ is very similar to the 63 2.8 but the zoom capability affords me many more options. Especially when on travel. And somewhere this lens hasn't heard, doesn't know that it's a 'zoom' lens. The IQ is very sharp. Color redition superb. Focus speed and focus. Fast and spot on. I will miss my beloved 63, but not for long I think. Yea Fuji!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lens!!! Having had previous experience with both the Pentax 645D, 645Z systems, I knew when I changed over to the GFX exactly what I was looking for in a first lens. A really good zoom. A lens like this makes it so easy for people combining, or crossing over from DSLR use. Easy to use, and not all that large in size considering what you are getting in focal length. Great build quality, sharp as could be. So while I either own, or have rented all of the lenses currently make for this system, I would say this without a doubt. Get this one as a first lens, then add some of the others as needed. It is very nice. As far as B&H is concerned, I believe I have been a customer since late 2007,early 2008. Prices are great, customer service is top notch for sure. I have bought new, used, and traded in gear with them, never any issues at all. Not one! I usually check their site first before I shop anywhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens I have been beyond pleasantly surprised with this lens. The quality is what I have come to expect from Fuji GF primes and I am scratching my head why I would buy a prime that overlaps in focal distance with this zoom. I use the lens for a variety of purposes from architecture to portraits and have even used it with the macro extension tubes and it never fails to produce a great image. A couple items I think are exceptional about this lens. First - the contrast I get when I use this is the best of any camera I have ever used including Leica and my old Zeiss equipped Hasselblad. Phenomenal. Second - the lens is incredibly sharp. I have been shocked at what I have been able to see in clear detail when zooming in on pics I have taken with this lens. The clear focus never seems to end. Hard to believe that a lens of this price can be a bargain - but it truly is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent landscape lens This lens is sharp, edge to edge, relatively compact, and performs very well under varied lighting conditions, for both landscape and group people photographic conditions. I have only had it for a couple of weeks, but used it extensively in Monza Italy the last few days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult to fault In use, the GF 32-64mm f/4 has been a stellar lens optically - if you need coverage in this focal length range, and the aperture is wide enough for your needs, go for it. The lens has the contrast and resolution to nearly rival the GF primes, little in the way of optical faults (minimal vignetting, distortion, chromatic or comatic aberrations - I very much suspect that whatever flaws may exist are largely corrected by lens profiles built into the lens/body, how else could my RAWs come out showing so little in the way of optical missteps?), generates pleasing sunstars, even the wide open bokeh is surprisingly smooth. The build has proven itself rugged enough during a little over a year spent mostly shooting landscapes in the field. It may not be quite as exciting as the 23mm f/4 or 110mm f/2, but it is a workhorse of a lens, and the backbone of my medium format landscape kit.
