can anyone comment on focus breathing?
can anyone comment on focus breathing?
There has been no reports that we know of any focus breathing with this lens. Being a telephoto prime we would expect very little anyway.

How close can it focus? The lens and manual say .45m but I can get in focus much closer. What am I missing? thanks.
The minimum focus distance is measured from the focal plane or sensor, not from the front of the lens. Hence, the minimum focusing distance would be from this plane to whatever you are focusing on.

I want to use this lens to digitize 8x10 negatives on a copy stand with light source from below. Will the lens allow the image of the 8x10 film to fit the GFX 50R viewfinder at a copy stand height of 32 inches or less?
Thanks.
FUJIFILM GF 120mm f/4 Macro R LM OIS WR Lens
has an angle of view of 25.7 degrees. If you use trigonometry and calculate for a distance of 32 inches you can take a photo of an item that is 14.6 inches in size. So an 8x10 film will fit.

question
Should I be able to detect something shifting back and forth inside the lens if I tilt it up and down?
Not to worry. Many of the Fujifilm optics have components that move freely inside until the power comes on. As soon as camera turns on, that goes away.
