Crown Audio DCi 8600 Overview

The DriveCore Install DA series is a line of premium installation amplifiers with Dante networked audio transport that are based upon advanced DriveCore technology. These amplifiers feature an efficient design with network control/monitoring, high-level DSP with JBL tunings.

Programmable general purpose input/output port
GPIO ports can be configured in many different ways, such as volume controls, recall presets, or to report errors to third-party control system.

I ordered 3 of these. In addition to taking over 4 months to arrive, after 1 week of use, an unused output started showing fault. Crown support was unhelpful and said the only thing I could do was send it back to be repaired - an estimated 6 weeks. There was no advanced replacement and it all had to go through the distributor. I used to have a lot of respect for Crown, but not any more, and never again. I have a need for 134 additional amp channels, and I can assure you they will not be Crown.
