  • 1Description

Simple in design and easy to use, Celestron's 2x EclipSmart Solar Observing Binoculars give you an ultra-portable and safe optic to view the Sun and solar eclipses. This basic optic features ISO-certified solar filters that offer protection from IR and UV light while blocking 99.999% of intense visible light, with a 2x magnification to help reveal surface details. The heavy-duty cardboard construction and collapsible/folding design makes it easy to carry without adding excessive bulk. Celestron offers the 2x EclipSmart here as a 2-pack so users can enjoy viewing the Sun with a friend. Along with the two pairs of binoculars, a 24x36" 2017 Solar Eclipse Transit map is included that can easily serve as a poster, plus a booklet that is full of useful information about eclipses in general and the 2017 US eclipse in particular.

2x EclipSmart Solar Observing Binoculars (2-Pack) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for amateurs We tried these out of the box and they work fine. They probably won't survive a lot of use but you'll only need them for one day. We bought these as an addition to the celestron kit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Epic fail This product fails altogether. The image through the device does not appear any larger than through solar glasses, and because the interpupillary distance is fixed the image is split giving you 2 suns encouraging you to close one eye.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as good as free glasses I was very excited to get these, but using them was very disappointing. We had Australian friends visit for the eclipse, and each couple had one of these and one or more plain, free glasses. After swapping back and forth, both couples agreed that the EclipSmart were inferior, primarily because of strong chromatic aberration. There was a lot, given that these are only 2X.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ready for the eclipse! Just what we needed. Wanted something to get ready for the eclipse and wanted time to try them before the eclipse. These are super easy to use and exactly what I wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from reliable shipping; good product I have a small face (usually buy smallest glasses frames) and these viewers fit to my eyes well (i.e., the holes are not too far apart, as often are for me on binoculars) Obviously, the eclipse hasn't occurred yet, but I can say the image looking at the full sun is good one sees clearly and only the sunlight, nothing else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy again ! The order was placed and I received within a few days. It was shipped out the same day:it was odered !!!!!! The shop had the item in stock at a very good price. Although not used yet for the solar eclipse the reputation of the shop and glasses was the reasoning behind the quick purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from just as good Was going back and forth between these and regular viewing classes and didn't feel like the magnified anything any more than the regular ones. They worked fine for regular viewing but were not worth the extra cost as I didn't notice anything magnified. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly well made We've tried these out ahead of the eclipse, and we were pleasantly surprised at how well they work! They fold open and are easy to view find. Looking forward to using them and sharing with the family during the eclipse!
