    Brother WD-200B reviews

    AirScouter WD-200B Head-Mounted Display is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Terrific addition to your Drone kit I purchased this to fly immersive FPV with a DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter which has a 720p HDMI output. The WD-200B is very easy to set up and use. It consists of a control box, and a head display connected via a cable. The battery is in the control box, and that is also where you plug in a full size HDMI connector (type A) with your video source. The control box can be powered with the internal battery, or via an external USB source via a Micro-B connector. The control box has buttons to rotate and flip the display as required so you can use the display on either side of your head and in any orientation. The buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation. Image quality is great and there is no discernible lag. Five brightness levels accommodate indoor or outdoor use. One minor issue is that in order to charge the internal battery you must use the included proprietary barrel connector AC adapter. You can't charge from USB. This is inconvenient and unnecessary as the internal battery could have been charged by USB via an internal DC-DC converter. This is why I rated it 4 stars; otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I was initially concerned about use with glasses. The device fits well with glasses but due to my age I have poor close-up vision so I wear progressive bifocals. Brother anticipated this with a knob on the display that allows the focal length of the system to be set to an effective distance of 30cm - 5m (1ft - 16 ft). This provides an image that is very clear and comfortable to view. I was also concerned that my glasses would cause the display to be too far from the eye to see the entire display area, which has been a problem for me with other head displays in the past. In this case I was able to adjust the display for a full image area without issue. I have found this to be a worthwhile addition to my drone kit. It is easy to use, looks great, and allows me to fly immersive FPV while staying within the line of sight FAA rules.
