The GM4562 Series 4 Monopod from Gitzo is a 6-section, lightweight carbon fiber support designed to be the most compact and travel friendly monopod within Gitzo's line up. Utilizing Gitzo's patented G-Lock Ultras, the GM4562 has the ability to support up to an impressive 66 lb while weighing just 1.5 lb.

Reaching a maximum height of 60.6", the GM4562 is suitable as a general use monopod ideal for nearly any situation. Its true advantage lies within its 6-section design, which allows the monopod to collapse down to an easily packed 17.3" in length. As all Gitzo monopods, it features a reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 mounting thread for adding an optional head if more height or articulation is needed.

Maintaining Gitzo's reputation for strength, the GM4562 utilizes 6X Carbon eXact tubing and patented G-Lock Ultra designs to ensure professional performance without the bulk. The 6-layer carbon weave allows the monopod to maintain maximum strength while keeping weight to an absolute minimum, while the G-Lock Ultras also add to the tubing's strength by providing a rigid connection between leg sections and protecting the joints from dust, dirt, and moisture.

At the monopod's base is a redesigned rubber foot that features a pivoting ball-joint for smooth tilts and twists. Users may also remove the foot if necessary and replace it with optional rubber feet or an optional metal spike. The GM4562 also features Gitzo's standard textured hand grip for enhanced ergonomics and a removable wrist strap for increased security.

A ball head such as the Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head with Full-Size Lever-Release Clamp, B&H# REBH30LRII, will offer panning and tilting along with a Arca type clamp on top. https://bhpho.to/2QkeKLQ

question

Anyone had use this monopod with a gimbal + camera attached and doing video shoot like a jib shot style ? I would like to use it mostly horizontally, having my zhiyun crane v2 with a Panasonic GH5 (about 5 pounds); to make a lot of crane/jib shot style shooting; and need to make sure it wont break under the tension cause while in an horizontal position. Steve Perry recommended the WH-100 Wimberly Head on his video. I bought one and it is excellent. The WH-100 is Better than All the others. I have tried the ones mentioned. They are so inferior and more importantly less trustworthy to disengage and drop your lens. The WH-100 is Very Well made PLUS less expensive than most other set ups. I also replaced the foot on all my lenses with a Wimberly Foot as well so I have eliminated the need to add a plate onto the foot. I don't trust the screws at all. They can work loose. I can just pick up any lens and clamp it onto the WH-100 or my other Tripods. I now do not worry at all about my Camera and Lens falling off!!

question

Is it completely stable at full extension, even with pro-size DSLRs and long lenses? Ive read some reviews of other 6-section monopods that they can be unstable if all the sections are fully extended.
Asked by: Robert
I use this monopod with a Nikon D850 with MB-D18 battery grip and a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 180-400mm F4E TC1.4 FL ED VR. The total weight is approximately 10.5 pounds. If you securely lock the sections it is stable from short to full extensions.

Asked by: Harry
I've no idea to convert this. But I found different brand in H.K. China made which is a tripod & one leg can be detached as a monopod, but thinner in size. Hope U may find this at your store. Regards.
