Gitzo GM4562 overview

  • 1Description

The GM4562 Series 4 Monopod from Gitzo is a 6-section, lightweight carbon fiber support designed to be the most compact and travel friendly monopod within Gitzo's line up. Utilizing Gitzo's patented G-Lock Ultras, the GM4562 has the ability to support up to an impressive 66 lb while weighing just 1.5 lb.

Reaching a maximum height of 60.6", the GM4562 is suitable as a general use monopod ideal for nearly any situation. Its true advantage lies within its 6-section design, which allows the monopod to collapse down to an easily packed 17.3" in length. As all Gitzo monopods, it features a reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 mounting thread for adding an optional head if more height or articulation is needed.

Maintaining Gitzo's reputation for strength, the GM4562 utilizes 6X Carbon eXact tubing and patented G-Lock Ultra designs to ensure professional performance without the bulk. The 6-layer carbon weave allows the monopod to maintain maximum strength while keeping weight to an absolute minimum, while the G-Lock Ultras also add to the tubing's strength by providing a rigid connection between leg sections and protecting the joints from dust, dirt, and moisture.

At the monopod's base is a redesigned rubber foot that features a pivoting ball-joint for smooth tilts and twists. Users may also remove the foot if necessary and replace it with optional rubber feet or an optional metal spike. The GM4562 also features Gitzo's standard textured hand grip for enhanced ergonomics and a removable wrist strap for increased security.

    Gitzo GM4562 reviews

GM4562 Series 4 Carbon Fiber Monopod is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A true monopod ! Finally a monopod that works for me. Legs are small , practical for transport and use ! Light , fast , solid , all I need for my birdphotography gear. I use a 500 & 600 mounted on a 1Dx . Heavy stuff , no problem for this monopod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Monopod For Travel Brought this for a more compact travel monopod that could comfortably still support large lens and it does the job. Feels strong and that last bottom leg doesn't feel like it could snap like other compact monopods. The bottom foot was different for me but I like it now and it gives a comfortable contact to the ground. Also the foot folds sideways while packing or pushing into a side pocket. Just what I wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid build and very functional I bought the GM4562 monopod to use as an arm for the Ikan Ec1 beholder video stabilizer. The build is so solid, I have full confidence using the monopod fully extended with the gimbal hanging off the end. Even over the ocean. Because I travel a lot, the size and weight are also very convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For long exposures just add snow I bought this monopod primarily for use when taking snowmobiling photographs because it is compact and fits in my avalanche bag. Can be used for long exposures in a pinch by stabbing it into the snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professionally Made Monopod This is a wonderful monopod perfect for supporting super telephoto lenses with ease. Folds up small and compact and is the perfect height for someone 6 ft. tall and under. I'm 5'10 and don't need the full extension of the monopod when it's supporting a Canon 300mm 2.8. The new foot design is awesome but I fear it might get knocked off with use. We will see if it holds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Worth every penny. I tried several solutions trying to avoid overspending but each one I used had a compromise point until I used this one. It is small enough to have with me all the time and its build is rock steady both in the extended pole and the connection to the ground. It flows easily and smoothly from its base making it an intuitive tool that doesn't require any added concerns to my image capture process.
