Does this column allows vertical positioning without movement/rotation in the horizontal plane? Is the composition as viewed in the camera viewfinder affected in the horizontal direction when the crank is rotated?
I plan to use the column with a systematic 3 tripod for product photography (but not macro), the idea would be to adjust the height without having to have to re-compose or re-focus afterward.
The Gitzo GS3313GS Geared Center Column for Series 3 and 4 Systematic Tripods is a geared column and moves up and down. It does not move side to side horizontally.
