Gitzo GSLVLS Overview

The GSLVLS Leveling Base from Gitzo is a basic leveling accessory designed for use with the Systematic series of tripods.

Ideal for flat base tripod heads, the GSLVLS is designed to help users level a standard tripod or fluid head in order to maintain level horizons and reduce time-consuming post processing corrections. Use of the leveling base requires a 75mm ball adapter which is available for all series 3, 4, & 5 Systematic tripod legs.

The leveling base features a lightweight aluminum construction which adds a negligible 0.8 lb to your existing tripod setup. The standard 3/8"-16 top mounting screw will accommodate most tripod heads and is connected to a tightening lever to secure the head and prevent unwanted twisting.

The base leveler fits my Gitzo tripod perfectly. Instead of buying a leveling base I opted for this. It also has a nice feature that locks the tripod head in place securely. Just spin the head on hand tight and lock the lever. Awesome feature.

I have a Gitzo GT 3543 LS tripod. What better compliment in terms of a leveling plate than to add a Gitzo leveling plate. This leveling plate is high-quality at a fair price with an incredible build and relatively lightweight. I'd highly recommend it.

How much does the Gitzo GSLVLS Leveling base add to the height of a tripod when mounted on its GS3321V75 half-bowl adapter?

Once the Gitzo GSLVLS Leveling Base for Systematic Tripods is mounted on a Gitzo tripod with a half bowl adapter, the Gitzo GSLVLS Leveling Base for Systematic Tripods adds 1.5'' of height to the tripod base mount.

What is the maximum degrees this will tilt forwards?

Gitzo GSLVLS Leveling Base for Systematic Tripods is a leveling base. So, like most leveling bases they are not made to tilt a huge amount. Manfrotto does not list the amount. But with it in a 75mm bowl as it needs to be in my guess is around 7 degrees or so. It is really to fine to the level.

Unfortunately no. The 1325 had a center column while the GSLVLS Leveling base is for a Systematic tripod with a 75mm bowl mount.

Does anyone know the load capacity (in pounds) of this Gitzo leveling base? I haven't been able to track down that specification (or find the user manual) online. Thanks in advance.

It is designed for use with series 3, 4, and 5 Systematic tripod legs. Refer to the manual for the tripod to find the load capacity.

The Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head will work without issue on this leveling head. Virtually all 3/8" tripod heads will as well.

You do not need the Gitzo 75mm Bowl Adapter to use the Gitzo GSLVLS Leveling Base for Systematic Tripods if your tripod has a 75mm removable bowl.

Will the GSLVLS fit on an older Gitzo 3541 LS or 5541LS tripods ?

This should fit just fine for the 3 series however for the 5 series you will need a bowl adapter.
