Technical Pro MCXPKG overview

  • 1Description

The MCXPKG Pro Accessory Microphone Starter Pack from Technical Pro includes a microphone shockmount, a suspension arm, a microphone pop filter, an aluminum carrying case, a 10' XLR microphone cable, and a 10' XLR to 1/8" cable. This kit is suitable for professional studios and amateurs alike, and has everything you need to produce high-quality voice recordings. All you need to add is the microphone (sold separately).

The kit's shockmount helps prevent unwanted low-vibration frequencies in the floor from reaching the mic. The pop filter eliminates the sound of vocal plosives, and the durable suspension arm is easily adjusted for better room acoustics. Once you're done, just pack everything up in the aluminum case and go.

    Technical Pro MCXPKG reviews

MCXPKG Pro Accessory Microphone Starter Pack (No Mic) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for podcasting and office: $50 So I did not like that the specs forgot to mention that the shock mount did not fit the Blue Yeti. If this product is not for the pro, then the non pro has most probably a blue yeti and needs a stand to fit. not the other way around. On the other hand, the shockmount for my purposes is an afterthought (I can cut those noises out) and you can use the stand without it by screwing the stand 4/8 screw into the microphone with the shockmounts' 5/8 adapter. The case is too small for the Blue Yeti but nice and will make for a improvised echo dampener, but I have to cram my mic in there and I don't like it. For that - 1 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad for price paid It's average - not horrible, but about what you'd expect for the price - I like that the carry case allows you to store everything, and has a place for whatever mic you normally use. it's nice for doing a mobile thing, where you know you will have a table to read from, as in a pod cast or something like that... all in all I'd recommend it - get 2 if you want to do interviews, etc -

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strictly amateur, but good enough for that! This kit would likely not long survive the rigors of professional use, but it should stand up well tooccasionaluse, if handled with care. The shock mount is sized for a two-inch diameter studio style side-address mic, like theAudio-TechnicaAT2020, which would probably be a goodmatch for price and quality. I was able to fabricate a DIY shim of dense foam to reduce theshock mount opening to fit my Sennheiser MD46 (see photo). The spring-loaded arms on the stand measure about 13 inches each, making it good for use in tight spaces.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not fit the Blue Yeti microphone Plosive filter and Arm seemed ok in the online deal of the day. Yet I do not think the arm will support the blue yeti mic and the shock mount is way too small for a Blue Yeti + the buttons on the mic are in the way for the holder even if it is forced upon the microphone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Package This is a very nice package. The case is outstanding. Just be aware that the shock mount will not fit a Yeti Blue microphone - it's just too small.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good in a pinch...! Great if you need to go on a temporary relocation away from your studio. Everything is as you would expect at this price point.
